Absolutely everything is overrated now. Most of the music today is just crap and the artists can't think of anything besides sex to write about. </opinion>

The girl that does morning announcements at my highschool plays stupid songs from those bands every day before the national anthem...I Literally have to cover my ears it's so terrible..

One of these days, I'm going to run into the office and stab her with a Judas Priest CD case.

simple plan, good charlette, and green day are perhaps some of the abslolute worst bands ever and their only fans are over wait pre-teen and teen girls who have nothing but dreams of these boys to keep them alive. And yes this is true there was a pic of the audience at a simple plan concert the entire front row weighed more than a herd of elephants.

Agreed, especially "hip-hop" other than gorrilaz (which isn't to hip-hopish it is bad)

Death metal is so ludicrous I can't take it seriously in the slightest.

All metal is pretty much horrible. Nu Metal..eh...the only thing I can take from that is SOAD (but I agree that they are overrated)

okay, I stand corrected in black/death metal. I don't listen to much of that anyways. Though I can assure you power metal is never about sex.

I'm guessing you haven't been exposed to good metal, especially since you like soad.

The first two bands that come to mind are Green Day and Dashboard Confessional. I don't mind Green Day, I'm just saying they are over rated. The Hot Topic at my local mall has 6-8 Green Day shirts on display.

There are so many different types of metal that calling it all horrible is nothing but ignorant.

Why would they call it Nu-METAL if it wasn't metal? Anywho, no, I've heard plenty of metal. Death, Black, Nu, Metalcore, Metal.... I really don't like any of it. Unless it's mixed really well with like, tech-grind, hardcore, screamo, ambient, or something else, I almost garuntee I won't like it.

No, been exposed. My friends constantly have me listening to the stuff. I can't give names because I forget them, but trust me, I've liked none of it. I like SOAD because it's the least metal.

Oh, just asking, but what is Mudvayne? I don't listen to it, but I'm curious what genre it is.
