My friend is a fucking moron

Well, It all started a couple of weeks ago, my friend (we will call him "Gary") apparently fell in love with this girl from Rhode Island. The problem? He lives in Indiana, and they have never met. He was talking to this girl over the online social networking website "XUQA" (which is basically Facebook's (or Myspace) slutty cousin) and she was saying crazy things (while obviously drunk) like, "I wish you were here, you make my kitty wet", "and you should come here, get drunk and make tounge love to me" The situation is further complicated in that this chick(well call her "Sara") has no idea what "Gary" looks like (but "Gary" knows what she looks like). "Gary" even changed his name on that website to "Gary loves Sara",

I think my friend is a fucking moron for wanting to meet, (and possibly want to marry!) some chick he never even met. Any of you guys have advice on knocking some sense to "Gary"?

He most certainly is!

Nowadays, he skips most of his classes so he can talk to this chick. He'll probably fail out of college because of this.

You'd be better served finding people that know him, and might even care slightly, than posting here.
As for advice, if you really think that you can do anything for him, pull as much info as you can find on "Sara" and pretty much beat him over the head with it. It won't work, but you'll feel better knowing that you tried to stop him. If you still have some twinges of conscience, you can be a good friend and either forcibly restrain him or try his parents, relatives, whatever.
That way, you've passed the problem off.

You'd better watch out, this guy sounds like the type of creepy person who may start stalking the people he "loves". There's a guy I know who's like that. Everyone tries to tell him that he'll get himself into trouble by falling in love over the net, but he never listens. He stays on the computer until 2am talking online and he's got like 2 "girls" that he's gonna meet in real life and everything.

You may just have to let him learn for himself.

Yeah, about that stalking part..... he nearly got arrested by campus police for "stalking" this chick. She apparently blocked him over Facebook, and he decided to go her dormitory to find out why. When he got there, he met the campus police. He was later referred to Student Judical Services, but was later found not guilty. I don't know, maybe a guilty verdect would knock some sense in him.
