Thats like when people complain about the psp. Really, when you are bored that thing is a lifesaver.

Did you charge it up when it had full battery life left? That happened to me and it lower's the ipod's battery time permanently.

These days old ones hardly hold a charge.

I bought an iPod shuffle a couple of months ago, and I've had to replace 2 of them so far between that period and now.

I'm not sure how the other iPods are doing, but if you ever decide to get one, DO NOT get the shuffle.

I think that ipods are overrated, but they're still great. I bought an ipod video, and it's nothing really special, but itunes is a great media player. And I've downloaded over 100 hours of free, high quality and interesting videos from podcasts.

Funny. I've had an iPod shuffle that I use daily, and it's been working perfectly for a year. I still get about 2 weeks worth of playtime on a single charge, too.

Maybe you got a lemon.

Maybe you're a liar.

Not really, my older iPod broke more than my newer one. The batteries only go down quickly when you are using the background light.

My only problem with the newer one is that it is harder to switch off.

Go with a regular mp3 player from another reliable company. Ipods are overpriced imo, and inferior quality. Everyone I know with an Ipod has had some trouble with it, but my mp3 players never messed up.

I left my iPod on from 12pm-11pm the other day (playing Metallica and Judas Priest, pissing off the family :) ), I have the 4th gen one with click wheel, I've had it since Xmas 2004 and it's never failed me yet, although my PSP has crashed every now and then
