Are you only slagging off Daft Punk because they're French?

Some of the songs are repeative but most tecno/dance groups do this.

Discovery is an ace album which I have in my CD player contantly, and if I could find it in a shop, Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem would be in my DVD player for life.

One More Time was a great song.

Watching that Victoria's Secret commercial with the lingerie model dancing to it was even better.

The only song that will really drive you crazy is 'Too Long', it loops over and over a broing loop for 16 minutes!

Infected mushroom are way better than Daft Punk.

Everyone should listen to Infected Mushroom. Psy-trance, apparently, if you're interested, but what can I say - it's good. I don't think you'd have to be a fan of anything in particular to like them, like Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Except they sound nothing like Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Daft Punk - I can't see how you can possibly get into their songs. At least, I don't see how you can get into their singles. Most pop songs are deliberately boring and unchallenging.

Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Infected Mushroom and NG Audio Portal Techno/Rave/DnB music tends to be better than Daft Punk. They do have decent music though, it's just that their song was on an iPod commercial and thus it became immensly popular, like how The Caesars had "Jerk It Out" on there and it became a really popular song, or U2 with "Vertigo".

Yeah they also did a gap commercial. I like a lot of their music but some of it can be far too repetitive or bland, like Prime time of your life and some of their lesser songs. However, Robot Rock, Human Afterall, and Harder Better Faster Stronger are all really good songs.

Daft punk isn't about lyrics, it's about beat and rythm and such. I could say your favourite band was overrated, but i'm not that much of an asshole.

I reckon Daft Punk are under-rated if anything. Yes maybe their newest album isn't the greatest and "Around the World" tends to get annoying, and i can't see who would listen through the whole song. But their "Discovery" album was a brilliant album. Songs like "One More TIme", "Digital Love", "Short Circuit" and "Cresendolls" are all great and original songs.

The whole point of dance music has nothing to do with lyrics. The whole point of it is to get people out onto the dance floor in clubs and groove their ass off. When you look at bands like this, you have to realise that they're not trying to write John Lennon.

If you don't like dance music, don't listen to it. If you can't stand repetitive songs, don't listen to them. According to this, it seems you've listened to only three of their songs. I've listened to all of them, and I know how diverse they can be. Want non-repetitive lyrics in a DP song? Go listen to Digital Love, Something About Us or Face To Face.

Thats the lyrics of Work It.

Anyways, I really liked One More Time as a feelgood song, and is Arround The World that videoclip where people (skeletons and mummies) walk in a circle on this swirling stair?

Different opinion

If you weren't listening to boybands when Around the World was fire released, you would of appreciated it still being a good song today. It's almost 10 years old.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger kthx

7 minutes, 24 words repeated.

I don't know what you're listening to, but my copy of HBFS is not 7 minutes long.

stuff

If it's such a simple concept, why couldn't YOU make a great song that everyone (minus cuntflaps such as yourself) loves?

Simple =/= shite. I bet your one of those kids that thinks that a band is only as good as the killer guitar solos that just mean a guy can move his fingers fast? Big shit.

Now onto Technologic:
A lot of lyrics. Yay. The entire song is repeating those lyrics with a little extra sound added in each time.

Yeah, and? Doesn't take away from the musical value of the song.

Around The World:
If you don't know why and have heard the song, I'm surprised you found your way out of your mother when she birthed you.

Other than the repeating words, there's nothing wrong with this song. In fact, it's one of my favorites.

If you haven't heard any of their other songs, you clearly need to take a look. In fact, you should just step back and look at the techno genre as a whole: EVERY techno song has a "chorus" part that is repeated and varied in their songs. That's just how it is.

As always, if you don't like it, don't listen to it and think you're a fucking genius for pointing out things you don't like.

Well at least you don't need ecstacy to enjoy this dance music.

A couple of you guys are exaggerating the length of the songa though. THe longest version of HBFS (or Work It! as you guys are incorrectly calling it) is about 5 minutes long. Too Long is just over 10 minutes but it's not 17 minutes as someone said.
And Around the World is 7:07 minutes for the full version.
