My CoD2 doesn't work, I don't know why. I play it everyday.

Ever since I gave my computer a "system restore" it hasn't been working. I start it up and it says the usual, "It seem CoD2 didn't get shut down right, would you like to play in safe mode?," I click no and be on my way. Now, though, after that a new alert has occured saying "Set Optimal Settings."

I click yes (or no) and then call of duty just shuts off.

When i did the system restore, It said it would keep my files and stuff. It just made all of my apps not work. They turn on, but when they open somethings always wrong with them.

Steam has never worked properly so I don't really give a shit about that anymore. I'm over the fact that I spent 50 on half-life 2 and CS: S and I can't even FUCKING play it.

FUCK.

Goddamnit I almost hate PC Games as much as I love them.

My computer has been saying shit like FOUND NEW HARDWARE!

And i don't really care! Infact I'm almost tempted to drop my computer out of my window! It wouldn't help me though because I only live on the first story.

It's giving me that optimal settings message because it found new hardware on my computer or someshit.

Would re-installing CoD2 even help?

Reinstall all your drivers. The problem is probably that you had a problem before you installed all your updated drivers for you graphics card and the like, so your computer reset to those settings. Update all your drivers, and go from there.

Well, graphics card firstly, and secondly whatever the new hardware your computer is telling you it is detecting. It could be something unrelated (if you have something plugged into your USB ports that would register as new hardware also) but it's worth looking into.

It was only the printer, I did update my graphics though...
Have any other ideas?

Well, if it's that bad than have you considered undoing the system restore?

You Can Do this?!!!!

BTW I've ran into another problem. I unistalled it, but when I insert the install discs, it does have the install funstion. It just says, Ply SInple Player, Multiplayer, Uninstall, Support.

obviously it doesn't know that it's uninstalled

How do you undo a system restore?

Maybe you should understand that it ran smoothly on medium performance, a few days ago?

No wonder you can't run steam. If you play games, you need a new machine.
