And who says socialism is a bad thing? besides, the US is the most capitalistic nation on the planet, aside from Japan. Look at Britan. Socialism works decently for them.

What a stupid post, Shrike. Go learn something. The US is socialist...holy crap, I can't stop laughing, man! Okay, thanks. That was the best laugh I've had in a while.

And not only is the US capitalist, it's pretty bad at it, too. Japan has mastered capitalism, and made it work. Unemployment is waaay lower than in America, and education is to die for. The US is chock full of poverty, crime, and violence. I mean, not only does the US use an economic ideology that I don't agree with, they can't even do a good job of it!

By the time my generation is elderly social security and such won't exist anymore. They'll be out of cash to pay for it. So basically, time will destroy all socialism based aspects of the US. As for welfare, if the US really wanted to help people, they'd give them government jobs or jobs contracted by the government... I mean there's always trash to pick up , roads to pave, garbage to collect, mail to deliver...and if they don't like it...well let's see their fucking pride put food on the table.

I fully agree that creating jobs is a better solution than the dole.
The statements about running out of money suggest that you actually believe your government is accumulating a deficit, or draining its treasuries. Actually, you're accumulating a near-surplus, and the treasuries are in great shape. You're just not told this. Go looking at the stats.

Actually Britain is a shithole at the moment. And y'know why? No! Not Socialism, Capitalism! During the 80s and 90s Britain lost its Socialist ways with the Tories privatising industry and crushing the unions. Now we're up shit creek without a paddle.

I don't know what you mean by this.
By the way, Shrike, I'm sorry, for some reason I thought you had started this topic. I apologize for the whole stupid comment.

Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world I believe. Though the country is incredibly successful it puts a toll on it's people. The incredibly competitive environment basically means you have to have an almost perfect GPA in order to get anywhere at all in the US a 3.0 GPA will get you an ok paper pushing job, in Japan you have to have almost perfect grades because of the competition.

Hell, if I had to go to school on Saturdays, I'd consider suicide too.
