Okay, I had an argument with my friend this morning. We somehow, at school, got into a conversation about how much British we have in eachother.

I said "I know as a fact that I am somewhat over 1/4 British.

He said "Oh yeah, well, I'm 1/2 British"

I said "How?"

"Well Im already a small amount of British and I'm also Irish and Scottish. So that adds up that I'm 1/2 British"

"Just because you are Scottish and Irish doesnt make you more British"

"Yes it does, Scottland and Ireland are all in the U.K. so that makes them British"

"Yeah, but thats like saying that since your in Puerto Rico, that you're American"

"No it doesn't, Puerto Rico isnt a sate"

"But it is a territory"

And the argument went on from there. So I need your personal opinion on who is right, my friend or me.

It sorta is a pointless arguement. I mean, I have this arguement with my roommate about who is Irish. And no, it's not about who is more Irish or anything, because she clearly is more Irish than me. Yeah, i agree with the fact that its pointless, but my friend keeps on insisting. Hes been taking a vote on who agrees with him and if he asks anyone and they say that they disagree with him, he just say "that didnt count, hes a retard" or "that doesnt count, cuz he worships satan" or sumthing like that.

Here. i shall give a simple answer:

If your from britan your british
If your from Irland your irish.
If your mom is british and your dad is irish, your 1/2 of each.
If you grandma is irish and your grandad is english, your mom (lets just say mom) is half of irish and 1/2 englsih. then lets say his/her dad is scottish, then she/he is actually 1/3 irish
1/3 british
1/3 scottish

No one's really right. That's a debatable topic, depending on whether you consider being a territory of the U.K. actually decending from British blood. I would say no, it's all about the genes and blood, not territories.

britain is in the UK, but the UK doesnt make you british. u have to be from the country of england to be british.
