Sexism is a growing topic, I particpate in sexism and abortion discussions. And i've read and posted in the abortion on this account and on the last. And some of the posts I find are unbelivable.

I'm sure this is out of context.

(Qoute) "Its bad enough they have rights in the first place."

Hi, sarcasm and harmless joking isn't allowed. The internet is serious business and making jokes about men only caring about their penis and sexual satisfaction and women not having rights is never tollerated.

Read the forums and please say no to Sexism. Its wrong man. Just like this link.Sexism is wrong!

Sex, the perpetuation of sexism in serious context is wrong. It's the difference between someone telling a racist/sexist joke and not meaning it and actually having hate in their heart when the tell it. I make jokes about women and men alike. Am I a sexist because I make jokes about my gender? Or because I make fun of men? No. Because I honestly don't believe that either gender is inferior to another.

I hope I got some kind of message through to you sterotypes.

Since when have I become a stereotype?

Lady Grace, I meant nothing against you, I used it as an out of context example. I wasnt calling all people Sterotypes, I wasnt calling any specific people Sexist either. No offense made. Very sorry to those offended. Its people that think women are inferior to men that drive me crazy.

I completely agree that those who think women are inferior are despicable people. Anyone who honestly and blindly thinks that a certain race/religion/gender is better is a complete and utter moron. However, when quoting people who have said things in a very jocular manner, it's very different than someone who honestly hates another group of people.

Chauvinistic Pig.

But seriously, who are you kidding, Women aren't ment to think. There meant to produce children, cook, clean and take care of us men.

Hell, if God wanted women to work, he would have given them intelligence.

That's not sexist (unless you take offense to use of the word girl rather than woman).

I'm pretty sure name calling isn't considered very polite behavior either.

As long as women are forced to do cooking and cleaning for their husbands, there's sexism. It fascinates me that so many women fail to see how sexist their husbands are. And we wonder why there's so many abusive marriages.

I do most of the cooking and cleaning but I feel my wife should be the one doing it. Can I still be sexist? Also when we graduate from college my wife wants to be a stay at home mom, is she sexist? If so don't worry, I'll beat it out of her.

honestly, Im no sexist. I have no problem with women being equal to men. However, my problem with abortion is that I beleive it kills innocent children. If you cant take care of that child, give them up for adoption.

Tell me, where is the post or person that made the quote about women already having too many rights? Because if you actually realized that this world is far different from what it was 70 years ago, maybe you could understand that sexism against women is dieing fast.

Whats funny is when its against women there is an outrage and people become upset. But when its against a man.. No one cares.

"in the UK 9/10 divorces end with the kids allocated to the mother."

Why is it that more chilrdren are left with the mother then the father? Simply because in most divorce cases, imcompetent judges symphasize with women because of their sex and give them custodial rights.

* 37.9% of fathers have no access/visitation rights. (Source: p.6, col.II, para. 6, lines 4 & 5, Census Bureau P-60, #173, Sept 1991.)
* "40% of mothers reported that they had interfered with the non-custodial father's visitation on at least one occasion, to punish the ex-spouse." (Source: p. 449, col. II, lines 3-6, (citing Fulton) Frequency of visitation by Divorced Fathers; Differences in Reports by Fathers and Mothers. Sanford Braver et al, Am. J. of Orthopsychiatry, 1991.)
* "Overall, approximately 50% of mothers "see no value in the father`s continued contact with his children...." (Source: Surviving the Breakup, Joan Kelly & Judith Wallerstein, p. 125)
* Only 11% of mothers value their husband's input when it comes to handling problems with their kids. Teachers & doctors rated 45%, and close friends & relatives rated 16%.(Source: EDK Associates survey of 500 women for Redbook Magazine. Redbook, November 1994, p. 36)
* "The former spouse (mother) was the greatest obstacle to having more frequent contact with the children." (Source: Increasing our understanding of fathers who have infrequent contact with their children, James Dudley, Family Relations, Vol. 4, p. 281, July 1991.)
* "A clear majority (70%) of fathers felt that they had too little time with their children." (Source: Visitation and the Noncustodial Father, Mary Ann Kock & Carol Lowery, Journal of Divorce, Vol. 8, No. 2, p. 54, Winter 1984.)
* "Very few of the children were satisfied with the amount of contact with their fathers, after divorce." (Source: Visitation and the Noncustodial Father, Koch & Lowery, Journal of Divorce and Remarriage, Vol. 8, No. 2, p. 50, Winter 1984.)
* "Feelings of anger towards their former spouses hindered effective involvement on the part of fathers; angry mothers would sometimes sabotage father's efforts to visit their children." (Source: Ahrons and Miller, Am. Journal of Orthopsychiatry, Vol. 63. p. 442, July `93.)
* "Mothers may prevent visits to retaliate against fathers for problems in their marital or post-marital relationship." (Source: Seltzer, Shaeffer & Charing, Journal of Marriage & the Family, Vol. 51, p. 1015, November 1989.)
* In a study: "Visitational Interference - A National Study" by Ms. J Annette Vanini, M.S.W. and Edward Nichols, M.S.W., it was found that 77% of non-custodial fathers are NOT able to "visit" their children, as ordered by the court, as a result of "visitation interference" perpetuated by the custodial parent. In other words, non-compliance with court ordered visitation is three times the problem of non-compliance with court ordered child support and impacts the children of divorce even more. Originally published Sept. 1992

You dont hear about this side of the equation. I never do. The fact is, sexism among women and men is changing, its starting to become alot more against men and alot less again women.
