RIP Gerald.
Gerald the hedgehog died last night after suffering from blindness, skin disease and even a broken leg. He was warm, at peace and alone when he died.
We found him this morning, asleep forever in his house(a box)
He'd lost his spikes, and even his will to live over the past few weeks.
Pics of the body later :'(

It was his skin disease that killed him.

My rat, Jo-Jo, got a tumor on his side and dug himself a death bed. It was sad. He spent like two days making this hole through his box house into the wood shaving stuff, and then just sat there until he died. Sad stuff.

I mention earlier that I owened mice that died. One died last April and we bagged him and put him in the freezer. This was only supposed to be for a few days until we could find a box to bury him in. The problem is we forgot about him. A few minutes ago I looked in the freezer and guess who I found!

Animals know when they're going to die, and they accept it. They settle down and accept it. Unlike fuckin' humans.
