Shouldn't the gas companies such as Exxon Mobile be recieving loss in profit because of the oil "crisis"? I don't understand... are we being cheated?

Of course not. Why would you think that? The higher the demand for something, the higher the price. And, if costs of production stay the same, then the higher the profits.

It's simple supply and demand.

Under the guise of the capitalist system, no we are not. Everything is "fair game."

To all lackeys, it should be obvious why capitalism is not fair at all now. The average worker with his car lives in poverty because of the greediness of a couple board members who desire profit increases? Exploitation is systematic in every aspect of capitalism.

Seconded. While the cost of producing oil is increasing, end prices are being increased at a quicker rate. So they're making more. It's great. We own stock in ExxonMobile.
