Instead of just telling you how worthless you are, I think I will try a different approach and try to help you out. As a general rule in debate, since you want a "serious" debate so badly, when you are defining words, do not use definitions that are not operational. Part of that means not using definitions that worthlessly vague. Given that you are the proposition and have set the definition of slavery as such, I propose that you are also a "slave" to gravity, since it matches your definition. Now that there is a relationship established between gravity and the government, I can attack your argument by attacking the relationship. Obviously the government and gravity are nothing alike and this serves as a trivial example, but hopefully you see my point.

I was also under the impression that this thread would be about human rights violations and bona fide slavery (maybe even the problem dealing with foreign sex slaves imported to countries), not some issue with a local government. Oh for fuck's sake. Yes it is his property. Do you even understand the role of government in society? The government is supposed to belong to the public. It's not "government" property, it's "public" property, and the public has a responsibility to maintain their property. Now, the government is allowing him the option to have them hire someone and raise his taxes via a fine, or save the money and do it himself, so he can pitch in so society can fucking work.

Think about it this way. For jury duty, you are getting a tax rebate for hiring a full time jurist. For less than a day a year, thats a STEAL!!

He does have until later. He also has twelve hours from the time it snows. Bylaw officers must also notify the person of the charge before charging them. Because of this it could easily be explained that he can't shovel due to Sabbath.

Bylaw officers must give a warning on the first offence. This follows by another twelve hours of waiting before a charge can be laid. Technically he has a full day before he is charged for not shovelling.

Secondly, no real bylaw officer waits to the exact twenty four hours, it's always given extra time.

I may be generalizing but two of my friends and are bylaw officers. As such I read their rule book a few times.

If you see chalk marks on your car rub it off thoroughly. The chalk isn’t vandalism but a sign for other bylaw officers to give you a ticket.

This will ruin the first sign that you’re parked illegally. As such if another bylaw officer comes by and chalks it (s)he will have to wait the designated time after labelling the car until giving you a ticket.

This doesn’t always work as officers also use a florescent spray which only shows up for specific glasses, glasses which they usually wear (not always).

I have the same situation in North Dakota, only they give us 24 hours and only fine us 20 bucks for each 20 meters HA!
