Speaking based on genetics... Darker genes are (usually) more dominant than others. Ex: If a person has 1 gene for blue eyes, and 1 for brown, his eyes are brown. (You have two genes for everything... one from your dad, and the other from your mom). Therefor: The "white race" could die out after a while... but not by 2050, that's impossible. I mean, I will probably be still be alive then, and I'm white. And white people will still have children with eachother, so I'd guess more like, 3050, and not 2050.

That could be true. Yeah, you have a point - this may be our future, and it's not a bad thing. But then, I don't think that is very likely to happen, since the average death rate for every race is much lower than the birth rate, so even the recessive genes is likely to multiply itself faster. The end of all humans in the future is likely to be fast and deadly - that's what I think (maybe we're gonna destroy ourselves) - at that point, we, every single one of us - it doesn't matter who you are, are all gonna die close to the same time. There could be many races existing at the same time in the end of the world.

There are certain.... groups... of black people that are louder and more known than most.
The rappers, the "gangstas" and such. All the ones that are so massively popular for some reason. The ones all the little shite kids want to be like.
Now when some people see a black person who even remotely resembles someone who remotely resembles some rapper, they make assosciations.
All the black people who sing about pot and weed and stealing and shooting and such, seem to give the public a bad name about a certain age bracket of American black males.

Look many people let it be known what they went through as a kid. The society we live in is what takes the black / white thing into obcession. To some this was a means of self-employment and leisure. Society should not fault one race based on what an individual does, it's their life not the black races life.

I don't know. Maybe they will, but will that be a solution to stop racism? Or will they start discriminating the white people? Or will the white people go on like nothing is going on?
I really don't know and I think we all have to wait what time will bring.
I don't mean everybody just has to do nothing, because we still must go on fighting against racism, in whichever form!

I think eventually everyone will get used to multiculturalism, and racism will be eliminated. The US and Canada are more multicultural than ever.

You say that everybody will get used to multiculturalism, but on the other hand you say that the US and Canada are more multicultural than ever.

I'm saying that the two are connected. There is currently less racism than there was, and we are more multicultural then we were.
Once we are settled with multiculturalism and used to it, people won't think twice about a person of a different race. They'll be so used to interacting with other races they won't (and can't afford to)discriminate.

Yeah... what's here now is sure better than what was here 50 years ago. Lets just hope that in the future it doesn't get worse again. But then, of course, we do still have points we can improve on, to even furtherly reduce racism. It will be great if what you said would really happen in the future.

I have tend to agree with the author, even though I am white. I was born, raised and spent most of my life in Southern Cali, and have grown up around all different races - as well as family beinf of mix origins as well. I now live in Idaho - and people here are ignorant towards color. There are actually a few black families that live in this small town of mine, however, the way I hear most people talk about black people here, is so very ignorant as if we're talkin aliens here. I have to laugh to myself, thankful for growing up in a diverse community. It's not really fair, but also, there is really nothing one can do - except be the best person that you can and hopefully people will begin to recognize that your no better or worse than the next person. One comparison, however, I always like to make on this point: Take a look at our nations serial killers. How many of them are actually of different race compared to those that are white? Hmmmmm, makes a person wonder huh? Sometimes I have to frown on my own race. Food for thought?

My answer&opinion: no... I don't think we should do that. In Canada we're trying to do that to the aboriginals. It sucks for their culture because they don't get to preserve it, but sometimes when u tell a guy in somewhere like Nunavut to go to Ontario, he may make better money. But then, no one should ever be forced to assimilate. Canada and the United States are free countries, so they should be given the right to decide themselves.

Yeah, it's great to grow in different communities and have different experiences with people - that way, you could get to understand people more.

It is kinda sad that blacks r being treated like aliens in your place in Idaho. If you can, try to talk to your peers and take them away from racism.

The sniper (John Allen Muhammad) was just a crazy nut. Any race would have that. Serial killers - there's many of those from every race. For a killer, of course it's better to get caught after shooting one person than to get caught with the blood of half a dozen - or is it (if you get executed in both situations, and you're not a god-fearing person, it should be the same thing for you)? Anyways, in Canada there is no death penalty (did I mention that in this topic already?). The worst that can happen to you is that you get sent to jail for life.

Just because there are some positive misconceptions along with the negative, that does not lessen the load of racism.
It just adds to the popularity of stereotypes.

The whole racial problem seems to lie within humanity's inseperability with stereotypes. We need stereotypes to catagorize things with. We once needed to look at a new person and decide friend or foe right from the start, or possibly suffer when the newcomer brought bigger, meaner friends. Since then, we've created language to inquire further whether or not one is friend or foe.
So in this age of information:
Misinformation is the real culprit!
When a person is born into this world, they absorb the environment around them as a means of understanding the world. When taught that others who look diffrent are inferior, a child will assume this to be true if delivered by a reliable source - or CNN.

Actually, I think the real problem is that people don't treat others with respect, and the effect of a tsunami once it hits shallow waters is terrible.

Racism isn't right. And neither are stereotypes.
As a matter of fact, all stereotypes are false. =]

Treat your brother with dignity and respect.
Or, do only to him what you'd have him do to you as well, no more or less.

Well that rumor about black males being um lets say "equiped" now this may or not be true. But I'd much rather be Asian than Black or any other nationality.

You may find a this funny but the quote from last saturdays static shock was interesting to me "here in Africa I'm just a kid not a black kid it must feel good to feel like this all the time"

well somettimes african pride isn't exactly the greatest thing, as some of it involves death to the "white devil".

not saying all blacks...just some. the thing is that since the whites enslaved the blacks, they lacked education, and even after that racism made the lack eductaion. and once they were accepted, they rejected white thinking, thus leading to "gansta", and druggies, etc.

i'm not against black people, i just think that the media develops them as horrible beings. from anti white rafas...i forgot, but they reject white thinking, to women disrespecting, druggie wasted rappers.

No body realizes that we dont just descriminate against the African Americans that wear these things. By things i mean rapper or gangster icons basically. I honestly see more white people that wear more of these than African American people. Also they are the ones most people look at as the bad kids. I move around a lot so i have a lot of experience with multicultural people and the main thing that i noticed is that no body cares what race you are. You could be ethiopian for all they care. The school im in right now has a student from iraq in it and he is the top student in the entire school. Plus our school is one of the top 15 highschools in the nation. So no, people dont just descriminate against black people. And most people say that they are being descriminated against for thier clothing but they dont want to change. They want the entire world to change. How hard is it to just wear different clothing?
