People kill others in the name of religion, they kill themselves in the name of god... wasn't the point of religion to get along with your neighbors and promote peace? well, islam isn't doing so hot in the news right now, Christianity is underfire by abuse in the catholic church and we aren't doing anything smart to restore peace. If religion ment for acts of violence in it's name, then i rather be agnostic and stay out of this crap.

I think you're oversimplifying it, but essentially, you're right. The chief point of religion is to create a set of guidelines to live by.
A lot of people don't follow these guidelines. Is this surprising? No, of course not. "To err is human." The secularists aren't much better on the whole. And you've always had people mucking up the name of any religion. Ultimately, you can't blame "religion" for its failings, or for the failings of its followerers. Humans are illogical, flawed creatures – what can you expect?

Maybe we need a "Bitch about Christianity!" thread so we can limit the amount of these we get every day.......

He only mentioned two religions in passing as examples. It's a religion thread which, while overdone, could spark something nominally interesting.
K, probably not. *shrug*
