Fuck 60 minutes!!

I just saw a small clip of a 60 minutes coveridge about Denmark. Who the fuck do they think they are! Coming to Denmark with a prejudged opinion about the contry, criticizing us about how naiv, egotistical and snobby we are! They know nothing about Denmark! And to top it all they show tons of (carefully chosen) clips, that gives the impression of a stupid contry, living in a fairytale and dosn't care about anyone but themselve... This is not journalism!!

I agree. The special was idiotic. They pinned the entire blame of the rioting / et. al onto a single, random cleric in Denmark.

Yes you did concuer Norway and Sweden, but Vikings were still Swedish and Norwegian as well as Danish. You guys' history is so mixed up and vague, but It seems like your control over northern Europe ended around 1658, when Sweden got buff. You even lost Norway to Sweden in 1814. But the Vikings were the shit.

Yes you did concuer Norway and Sweden, but Vikings were still Swedish and Norwegian as well as Danish. what i heard was that we lost norway since we supported napoleon, and the swedish said "us too!" and broke free.

They showed Denmark as bad? They opened the piece by saying how a beautifal landscape it is, and later in the peace called the citizens tranquil people. They also mentioned something about fashion. The bad parts that I heard were, that there isn' t one mosque or muslim cemetery in the entire nation.

But the piece seemed to focus more on the cleric that drew more pictures to incite violence.

Youv'e got it half right, you lost Norway because you lost the Napoleanic wars, but you disn't lose Sweden because you didn't have Sweden. Sweden sided with the victors of Russia and England in the war, and was given Norway from Denmark as a victory splendor.

Sounds correct... You seem to know more then the average non-scandinavian about Scandinavian history... have you been reading on Wikipedia or have you read any books about it?

Yup, before that tough we were in a Union where the ruler were elected among the nobles by nobles. Some Swedes didn't like this however since the Danes were dominating the union at the moment.
