In todays day the lack of fundamentalism has made people lose faith in what they once believed. Nowadays people dont fear god and therefor dont follow the religion.. i mean look at the people we are supposed to model ourselves after.. catholic priests mollesting little children, revrends having affairs..is this a bad thing though? i dont think so as my friend tony once said fuck you jesus...fuck you

Yes, we should be more like those fundamentalist nations to the northeast of Africa. They really have their heads on straight. They don't tolerate any of the shit that is commonplace in our society, like women having skin exposed, anywhere.

This is of course only a bad thing if God actually exists.

Well thats a good thing, religion is just another means of controling the masses. The quicker it falls the better.

Except for the fact that if everyone "followed the commandments" the world would be a much brighter place...

Brighter for who? For the mallested children? For Gays? For women?
Religion was made for a very specific group of people, and who ever is not on that list - can kiss his rights good bye.
If you are a Catholic - anyone else who is not is a heretic and should die (according to the crussads).
If you are a Muslim - every none-believer should convert or be killed (according to the Jihad rule).
If you are a Jew - if no one kills you first - you should make the other people keep the Seven Rules of Noach, or be enslve them (according to the Old Testtemant).
If you are White - anyone else should die.
If you are Arien - anyone else should die or be enslaved.
And the list goes on and on...

Yes, pyres for burning heretics and witches are pretty bright, so are bookfires.

People quote the bible way too much around here. The bible has no authority of legal matters. The bible is nothing more than an outdated piece of historical fiction.
The club rules for a group started thousands of years ago.
The bible holds no sway anywhere outside of a church.

Hold on, am I going insane, or did I just read some people in the beginning of this thing arguing FOR fundamentalists. Oh man since we're on God all of a sudden, now I KNOW hell has frozen over. Come on people, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that when someone is too extreme in their approach to ANYTHING, even something that originally starts as a good idea, it always ends up with a negative outcome.

The 10 commandments don't hurt anyone no where do they mention anything agaisnt women or molesting children so if we did follow them the world would be better but thats not human nature. I think that it's a good thing that society is no longer fearful of god or hell. That means that people are becoming more enlightened to other ideas about spirtulism such as buddism, Diesm, or someones own personel idea about god and the soul.
