Equipment trouble

Ok so i was just about to jam and i finish plugging up my GCB-95 crybaby wah pedal and i begin to play but notice that there is absolutley no wah happening when i rock the pedal back and fourth and such. Sound comes through the pedal to the amp just fine, but there is NO wah. I just got this wah pedal for xmas and i have not done any damage to it like dropping it or anything. I've been using a 9volt battery like it requests and i believe the battery is fairly new. There is also an adapter choice but i dont have a right size adapter.

Any advice?!

-check the battery
-check to make sure that the guitar is plugged into "in" and the amp into "out"

it should work fine

omg im such an idiot i had the amp in the guitar jack and visa versa. Thanks! Sorry for the foolish noobishness that should've been the first think i checked. Damn I'm stupid
