It sucks that the game was decided in a shootout, but good on Italy. I wasn't cheering for them, but they played a great tournament. The French also deserve accolade for playing a great game (well, except Zidane).

Eucch, I don't want Zidane on the Red Bull. Our team has been shit enough for years, even with Tim Howard, Clint Mathis, etc. Adding Zidane would just be wasteful.

Wow. Italy win it again after 12 years of waiting for another final penalty shootout. And they grabbed their chance with both hands this time and hammered those penalties home. Good for them.

As for the match, I feel like France were slightly more dangerous. Ribery, Zidane (apart from the sending off, which comes later) and Henry played well. It was a penalty. As for Zidane, it's such a sad way to end. It was a vicious headbutt, and I do wonder what Materazzi said to provoke him. In the end Italy won by a crossbar but I am glad they have won it.

Man of the Match: Cannavaro. Top man. Not to blame for the France goal. Unbreakable.
