This tournament is pissing me off.

Big established countries keep beating the hard working deserving winners. Now I know that my own country is part of those not deserving to win but still. Croatia was amazing and without a doubt, unfortunately for the Roos =( , will pass on to the next round. They had just as many chances as Brazil and the defense was good. Dida was always a bridge too far in the end. It’s just frustrating to see underdog teams playing their heart out with no results. And damn, Ronaldo should get the most useless player award because I didn’t even see him in the second half till he was substituted by Robinho. Lmao, Robinho is so small.

I know that this is football and that there is no justice in this game…but argh >:(

Anyway, just watch me burn the underdog that defeats my country in the future. As long your own country isn’t playing you want the games to be righteous.

Damn, it was kinda funny, I fell asleep on the couch, and like, the second I passed out, Brazil scored, and then I woke up right after the replays were over.

It was like I CURSED CROATIA.

If Brazil play like that throughout the tournament, one of the good teams will tear them to shreds. However, they most definitely have a few more gears.

they're only men. Make them defend and they can be beaten

Hehehehe. You may live to regret saying that last phrase.
But, truth be told, we did play poorly, far from badly, but poorly nether-the-less. However, even if our attack had quite a few problems (especially before Ronaldo was subbed), the Croatians had what, 3 decent (not even good, just decent) chances? Maybe not even that? Our biggest problem wasn't our defense, it was the slowness of our attack, mostly liked caused by this being the beginning of the cup.
And besides that, in 94, a small 2-0 victory against Russia; 2002, a 2-1 victory thanks to a non-existent penalty against Turkey; and 2004, in the confederations cup, we actually lost the 2nd game to Mexico; Brazil started off poorly but quickly improved and eventually, well& won.
We can certainly play a lot better than that, all we need is to kick it up a notch!

So much for my prediction (4-0), and was that really Brazil playing there? They were the most boring and uninspiring team I have seen in the entire tournament so far!

Fair enough, it was probably because they were playing at about half pace, and can get much better, but frankly the arrogance required to do that is shameful, and highly insulting to a hardworking Croatia side who deserved a draw.

Croatia looked decent and had some creative and fast paced strikers, so they will be a real challenge to Australia and Japan. I didn't think they would be that good, but I have been proved wrong with that performance.

Brazil looked very vulnerable at the back,a dn a decent side will tear them to pieces. It's hard to believe they are such overwhelming favourites given such a poor display, although their attack is frankly phenomenal if you ignore Adriano and Ronaldo, both of who should be dropped for the remainder of the tournament for sheer laziness.

I guess you can tell I am a bit annoyed. Frankly that was a disgrace from Brazil, who have the talent to entertain and make this tournament great, but look like they can't be bothered. I now sorely hope they don't win it and prove their arrogance to be right, it just isn't the correct attitude.

I wouldn't say the most boring and uninspiring. Maybe uninspired, but both sides were extremely entertaining, at least in the first half. Ronaldho did some crazy shit in the beginning...I haven't watched a lot of Brazil football, so I was impressed.

I still think Brazil have a lot more in the tank. I wouldn't spit up in the air if I were some of you because it could land back in your face. Brazil were part of a bunch of many teams who were unconvincing but still beat a lesser team. Only a few teams have actually convinced me. No one's ruling out England, so don't rule out Brazil. Ronaldo's been a fat, useless bastard for ages.

On the other hand, Croatia played pretty well. Sorry to say it, but they'll probably beat the Aussies. I fancy Korea against France myself, but I'll make my prediction on the day.

I think I'm about ready to judge who I think will go through. I realise this is late but I missed it before. I think Ivory Coast will beat Holland and Serbia to go second to Argentina.

I think Paraguay will beat Trinidad and draw with Sweden to come second to England.

I think Portugal will win their group with Mexico coming second as planned.

I think the Czechs will win their group with Italy coming a close second.

I reckon Ecuador will come second to Germany, but that one's easy.

Like I said before, I think South Korea will be way fitter than France and pull off a win. Then I think they'll draw with Switzerland meaning that they'll finish first and Switzerland second. France to go home early again.

Spain will probably win their group, although I've kind of forgotten who else is in it. I know there's Ukraine, Tunisia and...aah Saudi Arabia. If Shevchenko plays Ukraine will be too strong for these two. Ukraine for second. I think Tunisia will be the big African disappointment. Likewise the Saudis for Asia but then...they always are.

I think Brazil will overcome Japan and Australia. I think the Croats will also be too strong for these two teams, although they will find the Aussies tough.

Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.

Mexico 3 - Iran 1: ¡VIVA MEXICO CABRONES! A very emotional game, indeed, and a very dr0nk'en wismty aswell. I felt sorry for the little irani boy who was crying at the end of the game, but only for like a second... 1 down 2 to go.

Angola 0 - Portugal 1: Portugal played excellent for like the first 5 minutes, and played OK at best, for the rest of the game, I was cheering for Angola, for personal reasons, obviously, but sadly, they didn't show any good techniques or anything at all for that matter.

United States 0 - Czech Republic 3 : LOL, just LOL. I hope that balding faggot, Donovan, still thinks they're going to "crush" Mexico after that pathetic display of skill. In other circumstances I would actually support Team US, but just for this World Cup, I would love if they stay just were they are; Last Place.

Itali 2 - Ghana 0: Good game by the Italians, didn't saw much from it, but I hope they woop US's ass too.

Australia 3 - Japan 1: Oy, I didn't konw them Aussies could play like that, personally, I was expecting a win from Japan... But, good for Australia, anything it takes to keep the Croatians from advancing.

Brasil 1 - Croatia 0: I expected more goals from the reigning champs, I don't like Croatia at all, ever since they were all: "OMG mexicans are shit, we don't need to worry about them" in '02 I kind of resented that and developed a hateful grudge against them since, even though we did kick their ass in the first game, and they finished last on the group... good times. I hope they finish last on this group as well. >=(

Korea 2 - Togo 1, France 0 - Switzerland 0: I didn't get to see either, but sounds boring, specially the France one..

H group looks just as promising as G. I'm not looking fordward to their games tomorrow... Otherwise is Germany - Poland, though ^^.

Win what, the cup? That's arguable...First place in their group? I think they pretty much have it... Their game against the croatians? Then, you are at least, an hour late, and you've already won £20; grats. By the way, who, in their sane mind, bets against brasil anyway?

So do I. US fouls way too much, since they have less skill than most other teams.

Not surprised with the Brazil - Croatia result really.

Brazil is always like this in the first games of the world cup, in 98 they barely beat Scotland 2 -1 and they ended up playing the final. Brazil always gets better as the tournament develops. If im not mistaken, last world cup they struggled agains Turkey in their first match and they ended up as champions.

The BIG problem Brazil has is the midfield. There is no one to steal balls. Emerson is too old and Ze Roberto hasnt really shined lately, and that was very noticeable in today's match. Also, Cafu is too old to play, Prso owned him, and thats where Brazil was very vulnerable today.

When Brazil faces a team that can control and pass the ball well, like Croatia did today, they always seem to struggle. They have so many attackers that if they do not have the ball, their team relys on individualitys. Its a shame Croatia lacked the finishing touch, all their shots when right to Dida. A tie would have been the most fair result.

Anyways, Brazil will cruise to the final.

Although Brasil didnt perform as well as they should have done against Croatia yesturday just remember Brasil never get off to a good start in the world cup really. Every tournament in the first opening game, Brasil dont perform as well as they should even though they still win the game.

Brazil were disappointing but there were flashes of brilliance so they can obviously get much better. Ronaldo was piss poor.

Spain today, i think they'll probably get to the quarter finals but i can't see them winning it.

Pretty spot on there. :D

Ronaldo looked like he just couldn't be arsed and Ronaldinho was a bit off form, but Croatia still played very well and maybe should have got a draw.

The French were also woeful.

I think the Spain - Ukraine match will be tight, two technically astute sides but Spain have the extra bit of flair.

OMFG DID YOU SEE THE GAME PLAYED BY BRAZIL!??! HORRIBLE!!!
Seriously, as a Brasil fan, they played horrible.
They should've beaten Curatio or whatever the other team's name is called to like 3-0
Instead, they only scored ONE FRIGGIN POINT!!!
KaKa (please don't make fun of his name) scored that only goal while Ronaldo was just walking around beating off!
I can't blame Ronaldinhio though, whenever he gets the ball, 3-4 guys would rush him since he's like the best soccer player in the world now.
But to the point, Brasil either didn't play with all their might so that the other team wouldn't see their skills or they are SCREWED!

Spain are lucky to be 2 - 0 up, 2 lucky goals and while it was 0 -0 Shevchenko was through on goal and was wrongly given offside.

GOAL!!! 2-0 Spain. It was Xabi Alonso who made the first goal, not Luis Garcia =S

Brazil dissapointed me yesterday, I expected a lot more but only 1-0... And France sucked again just like 4 years ago, don´t think they´ll stand a chance if they can´t even get 3 points from Switzerland.

I'm only really watching because of Crouch. Imagine having him running after you? You'd be in tears. I know it's old news, but I couldn't believe the own goal Paraguays captain scored. The rest of the game was just the typical England struggling to stay in control, though.

5 out of 6 false of sides for Ukraine + 2 throw-ins not given and all by the same assistant referee. I’m beginning to believe somebody has Spanish roots.

Shevchenko would have put that chance away as well
