JammXkids has anyone here heard of them before? I was reading something about how negative music is these days and came across this group. I think what they're doing is pretty cool, promoting activity through dancing as well as keeping a positive message with hip hop music.

Besides, if parents can't control what their kids are listning to, its their own fucking fault if they start following rap music and go around shooting people.

Did you're parents try? If/when I have children, I will forbid them from listning to rap, hip hop, or any other music thats detremental to their health. Instead, they will be forced to watch videos of becker, and recordings of that multiplication table song I have.

hip-hop music can make a sane man turn retarded. simple repetative beats are what make kids stupid. and as for the positive message, if it's anything like barney or the care bears then we'll have more kids growin' up to be way too soft and that's the last thing the world needs. we need the people that don't give a shit and do what they want. that's what makes people cool, diversity. if every kid grew up tryin' to be a goodie-two-shoes then we'd have a society of worthless fucks that bebop around all day whistlin' while they work. whoever thought of the idea of this so-called "band" needs to be drug outside and buried alive in concrete filled with broken glass and dirty syringes. in no way, i repeat, no way does any kid deserve to listen to somethin' that makes them feel that the world around them is a fuckin' sugarplum that's ripe for the pickin'. what the hell is the matter with people nowadays?

I'm not a soccer mom. I guess I'm just getting to the age where I don't think any of this stuff is worth glorifying for entertainment anymore I don't think violence is cool, drugs etc. It's just more or less a waste of time to me. I'm not saying that it doesn't have merit and doesn't entertain people I'm just saying that I don't think it's right for young kids to be exposed to it. I think instead that kids should listen to JammX as an alternative when there are very few alternatives out there.

First off, most music that talks about that sucks.
Like a typical rap song; Yoyo lets get crunk and smack some bizzitches
OR
(I dunno some crazy metal band?); ROAR WE HATE GOD! DEATH RIP STAB BLOOB (lol blood*) KILL YOUR GIRLFRIEND
I dont know where I'm going with this. Didn't really think it all the way through.

Only suckers pay attention to lyrics anyways. Personally I think that if you can understand the words without concentrating on them directly then it's probably not a very good song. I like intricate stuff :D

Classic argument of nature or nurture
Nature: YOU are controlled by genetics
Nurture : YOU are molded by a parental figure
In relation to this topic, anyone who really wants to be violent isnt going to be stopped from being violent just cos that music is banned. This is nature covered, this shows that music so far, makes no difference.
Anyone who wouldnt normally, but becomes it due to music video's/music whatever, deserves any violence they bring on themselves. They made a choice.
So this discusses the dangers of violent music.
NOW, the dangers of soft, nice music that makes people feel good about the world.
1. Its a fucking lie
2. Its disappointing WHEN shown not to be true later in life
3. Leading to distrust of the parents by the child figure.
Which could cause as many problems as any other factor to do with violent behaviour and music.
Pwned, sociologically.

If you don't want your kids to listen to rap music, make them learn a classical instrument when they're young.
Once they realise how hard REAL music is to make, then the'll loose all respect for it.

I sort of halfway agree. I learned how to play piano at a young age, considered to be classical by some, yet at the same time it is very contemporary. I appreciate all kinds of music, except the real bad kind like (I'm not sure I can say the word in the forums so i'll say "six in the kitchen") which is really a negative influence and like...somethin u don't want little children listinin' to. Classical is very fine art, but the contemporary is also music, it is just more fun and less serious. That's why classical music seems harder and seems like real music. I myself love classical music, and enjoy listening to it whenever I'm studying or reading a book. On the other hand, I create all types, not just classical but quite a few rock and pop. R&B is also one of my favorite types of songs. The band for kids is a great idea because music is having a negative effect on our community, but not because it is rap or hip hop or a certain genre. The message the artists portray are wrong, not the music itself, which can only be as wrong as the person who made it. Having a good balance of different types of music, having your own favorite but appreciating others is key to understanding music. Whether it be the up-beat Rap, Rythmic R&B, fast pace rock, charismic jazz, uplifting gospel, or the all so domesticated and developed classical pieces (which many believe is all styles ranging from Romantic to boroque to Renessaince, however there are noticeable differences between them all), music is a mysterious gift, like life, it has a soul and feeling and just like each of us, is different from the next.
Sorry for the run-on sentence, I do that when I'm all emotional and crap lol. As you may or may not can tell from my name, I loooooove music, so I sincerely felt that I must make my opinion known.

i'm going to force my kids to listen to the seatbelts, journey, the beatles, kansas, moxy fruvous, and anything else that doesn't suck. All bands my kids listen to must posess the ability to sing well or not sing at all.

People complain about the way music controls kids and encourages them into violent activities or whatever... However, they don't realise that from the moment their baby is born they're already teaching it violent behavior by singing simple nusery ryhmes.
Ring around the posey - about the black death.
Rock a bye baby - it's a baby falling out of a tree and dieing
knick knack paddy wack give a dog a bone, this old man came rolling home - (my theory) the guy came rolling home because the dog bit his legs off.
There are many more nursery ryhmes that relait to violent as well which soccer mums fail to see yet they blame all the nu metal bands because their generation of music was alot different to our genereation.
Now for example, a mother would be happy with her child listening to Opera. Half of the story lines in opera have tragic ending where someone kills themselves for another person over love.

i said this to my girlfriend yesterday. if i ever have kids i'm gonna take 'em places where real people hang out and in the car on the way there and on the way back we're only gonna listen to AM radio. that way they can here all the old music that you hear in a dentist's office and shit. thus making them learn about music at a young age from a different time and therefore makin' them 80's metal stars when they get older.
