Well, I respect PETA's activism on animal rights, but I really don't like them overblowing many issues, like medicinal experimentation on animals or trying to compare chickens in cages to the Jews during the Holocaust. The life of one human is infinitely more valuable than an animal.

But, I also don't like the way many of the animals are treated, and I will disagree with the practice of skinning animals alive.

Animals being skinned alive is bad. But torture at abu ghraib is worse. Think about all of the worst things you've ever seen or heard. I don't think fur is one of them. Fur is stupid and cruel, but it's not AS bad as many other things-think of Holocaust or the gulag...

I stopped having any respect for PETA once they bought and killed house pets (which the founder defended their actions) all because death was better than a house life.

Hey, skinning the animals alive is the owner's right to choose, and if you disagree you're an intolerant, bigoted, religious fanatic.

Normally I hate PETA cause there sorta crazy about the rights of animals. But this video is a shocker, wow. Though those people are probally a bunch of lunatics laughing at hurting a living thing. Still, I wont support PETA, still think they're nuts.

Cry me a damn river.

If our meat industry is just so terrible than why are only the people on the far side of the spectrum covering this (PETA). Also, why in the fucking shitter shit fucky fuck are other's not caring about this? Maybe because we have an ethics code?

Honestly, if you care about stuff like this vote for a presidential candidate that wants more money in orginizations that challenge the ethics code and wants stuff like this to stop. Don't cry to the PETA people about it. Sigh... If only I had a link to that penn and teller bullshit episode about them.

The responses to this thread have been horrible. I really wish I knew whether any of you actually watched the entire video before blowing off about PETA. These animals are being fucking skinned alive. Anyone with an ounce of decency would be outraged by this sort of treatment. I forced myself to watch the entire thing months ago when I first came across it. I stopped it thirty seconds in this time around, because I can't subject myself to that shit again.

Say whatever you will about PETA, but that's not the topic this time around. Watch the fucking video. Stop being reactionaries.

Watching the whole video, I can definiately say im discusted. They are not following the proper operating proceedures when skinning an animal. I know when I skin game to sell to fur buyers, I definately kill the animals first. These people shouldn't be in the same catagory as skinners.

Sure it sucks that the animals get skinned alive, But who really cares? Who is doing anything about it? And who can do anything about it?

The answer for all three of those questions.....
.....NO ONE.

PETA sits around, bitches, moans, signs petitions, doesn't do anything, and will never get anything done. The Meat Industry is a large part of our economy, and the government isn't going to go and try to make them change their ways anytime soon.

yeah, i saw this about a year ago, fucking horrific, but peta cant do shit but whine and bitch, in fact, you cant do a fucking thing about it anyways, i find it funny how some people care so damn much about animals but not the little indonesian girls who go blind in dark factories making shoes we wear, focus on what matters, than take care of the lesser things.

Hi,
I'm a PETA member and NG news me for the several threads I make on the behalf of PETA.

Thank you for considering making a donation, but a words of advice.
"Put up, or shut up."

People constantly make fun of us, just because we believe in something so strongly enough to get nude and lay on the ground to represent the MILLIONS of slaughtered cows in their Halocaust called the "beef industry."

Well, anyways...
Thanks for listening to me. People tend to avoid me, so I feel very special when someone hears me out.

Anyways,
do you want to help me out to legalize legal marriage between humans and non-humans?

Yeah, it's not hard to give the animals a whack before skinning them. Not hard to kill a coon. So why not do it?

But...

I'm holding this video suspect on the sole premise that skinning an animal is easier when it's not writhing around in pain. This method cannot be the status quo in the fur industry. It just doesn't add up, even from the owner's perspective.

So what, are you saying it's CGI? pf. This video is proof that conditions are atrocious, and even if it's not what is happening at every single place (which no one is claiming), that doesn't negate the fact that this is horrible.
