Why Iran?

as a matter of speaking they ARE invading Europe,just look at how many people"flee" to europe, they just try to becoome a citizen so they can vote on a party to make all europe an Islamic state.

They aren't towels, have a little respect for another culture.

The only reason I can think of that the United states would invade over is Iran's developing nuclear program, so that's what I'll elaborate on:

Presently, there is an international incident between Iran and most NATO nations, including the EU, because of the Iranian nuclear program, which the Iranians claim is for powering their cities. Their ability to produce enriched uranium could lead to them having nuclear arms, which is no good in the hands of a country whos leader has pledged to wipe Isreal (who also has nuclear weapons) off the map.

The good news is that Russia came up with a clever solution, where instead of the Iranians producing their own enriched uranium, they would ship it to Russia and the Russians would enrich it for them, then ship it back. Presently, the Iranians are negotiating terms with Russia, so there is hope. It's doubtful that the United States will even have to consider invading Iran now.

Short version, Iran wants to enrich uranium. Given it's past and how it has recently been talking about wiping Israel off the face of the Earth, all the reasonable people have concerns that they might use the uranium to make a nuke and....wipe Israel off the face of teh Earth.

Actually Bush wanted to send more troops to Iraq, but someone made a typo in the orders to deploy and no one else caught it. rather than embarass themselves theya re going to send off young men and women to die in Iran.

Indeed, but atleast they can't produce it willy-nilly. Also, Russia wasn't jumping at the chance to help them, they made the offer out of necessity, which was very gracious of them.

Iran wouldn't attack Israel would they? From my recollection of history Iran are good friends of the Jewish faith, they saved them from Babylon I think. Plus, Iran isn't a Muslim country so there isn't the Palestine reason for nuking Israel.

Iran wouldn't attack Israel because Israel has one of the most modern air-forces in the world, and Isreal would probably win.

However, Iran HATES Israel - they had a competition to find the best holocaust cartoon and Iran are preparing for an Israeli bombing campaign

they would still need tons of enrichment equipment to do that though. weapons-grade uranium has to be many-more times enriched

I doubt that we'll need to go in at all. While Iran may strongly dislike us, they have made it very clear that their first target would be israel. Since we're already involved in two countries (military wise) iran would acually need to launch a nuke before we'd go in there. Israel on the other hand, will most certainly opt for a pre-emptive attack on iran. I think iran's more likely to fall to israel than us.
