Global warming in the past century has been greater than any other shift in the world's climate over the past 1200 years, researchers have reported.
...
Averaged across the globe, the increase in temperatures is numerically small - about one degree above normal, and about two degrees warmer than during the late 1800s.
The increase, however, has been especially sharp in recent years, with all 10 of the warmest years on record occurring since the mid-1990s.

And I thought just a little while ago somebody just said that we are about to enter a new little ice age thing.

Actually, we're exiting a little ice age. Which, in part, explains why the climate is getting warmer. I'm not saying we're not messing up the environment, but you have to look at all the reasons why warming is occuring.

What does that have to do with the sharp increase over the last ten years?

I see your conclusion, but where is the argument?

Why do you assume the increase is solely from auto emissions when we have had automobiles for almost 100 years now?

If you're coming out of an ice age, the natural assumption is that it should be getting warmer. Again, let me say that I'm not trying to pin this all on the the Little Ice Age ending, I was just responding to the post before mine. I think it's very irresponsible for us to be pumping so much green house gas into the atmosphere. If anything, the fact that we're exiting an ice age means that we should be even more careful.

i agree with this theory, im here in oshawa, ontario canada and it hasent snowed here all year and its mildy warm... i think that in time we will eter an ice age and the world will be brought back to order, but not for a couple of millions of years, by the time that gets done all of life will be exstinct anyways, maybe we might make saome new technolodgy like tesla, he mader a devioce that gave u free electricity, we could of landed on the moon in 10 mins if we wanted to but the government took that away from him. the earth is gonna end not by green house gasses, by more likly running out of natural rescources

And actually Im fully aware of that but This is what I was talking about. There was also another topic on this forum called like mini ice age.

Averaged across the globe, the increase in temperatures is numerically small - about one degree above normal, and about two degrees warmer than during the late 1800s.
That information is incomplete. The change has been approximately one degree (C) change after our recovery from a particular cool period. This period, generally spanning from 1550 to 1900 is called the "Little Ice Age" for the major temperate drops over the period.
The claim of two degrees increase is incorrect according to all known reconstructions of past temperatures. No major reconstruction estimates a temperate difference of more than 1.4 degrees (C).
At one of the lowest points, the 1600s, the average temperature was 0.9 degrees (C) below the average temperature of the 1900-2000 century. In the 1800s, the average temperature was still 0.7 degrees (C) below the average. In 2005, the average temperature was 0.4 degrees (C) above the average.
Much of the actual "warming" was in fact a recovery from a low point, and thus the effect is often over exaggerated.
Here's a quick link, but the information is extremely numerous and easy to ifnd with the key words I provided:

It's good that you have challenged me on this and I honestly don't have the iniative to debate you more at this present point in time. However, I can't imagine it would be wise to ignore and undermine the effect that dumping billions of metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere has on our planet.

I'm staying the hell out of this one though. Scientists have been fighting over the cause for well over fifteen years with no substiantial proof on either side.

The good thing is that, when the earth gets warmer, the Ice will melt, causing a certain important climatological thingie (I don't know it's english name) to disapear, wich will give us in Belgium Canadian winters. No deserts and awfull heat for us, we're gonna get lovely snow. IN YOUR FACE, GLOBAL WARMING!!!

We are the peak of automobiles right now.
Now I"m not sure if pollution is the cause of this, but many people really need to stop wondering how to stop it, and instead learn how to embrace it.

An article of scientists who care about climate says that if we stopped pollution NOW it would start working in 50 years. I am sorry for not having a link i read it about a year ago.

I doubt very much that global warming is man-made. The Earth just goes through cycles, it's all natural.

but yet scientificly it has been proved... we use to get really bad witners in the -30's about 200 years ago. now the worst we can get is like -15.

Yet we don't know the reasons for this climate change. Humanity hasn't been around long enough to witness the cycles the Earth goes through over a period of 30,00 or even a million years.

PSST..come here..its called the earth is just going through a phase, like the ice age and shit. and we are not stupid creatures what the hell are you talking about, all we are, are creatures that can build many things, good and bad, and what the hell, if your so into this shit, become prime minister, or president and do something about it you lazy fuck.

Whoa! Put the commas down! Yes it is just a phase. Earth's climate is constantly rising and falling. Remember in the seventies when there was the big thing about a new Ice Age? In a century scientists will be laughing at us.
Funny thing about the Ice caps melting is that it would call an Ice Age.

Case and point.
Just kidding.
But as a stupid, self centered creature, I don't care about global warming because someone else who has more time on their hands will take up the fight for me. Also, I live up in Canada, in the frozen tundra, so not only would it make my winters a little more pleasant, but I'm high enough above sea level not to be drowned, even if the ice caps completely melted. Lucky me.
So I'm basically awesome.

What i think is funny is that people believe every thing the scientists have to say, clinging on to the so called facts presented, when they cant even look at the obvious. Global warming this, Global warming that, gotta take away suvs this, gotta stop polution that. Starters, if the Global Warming epidemic is really true, then stop going after the fucking people! The government, and factories, pollute more than any other entity on this earth. And yet we continue to allow radicals like the Earth Liberation Front, who are so stupid its ridiculous, destroy SUVs and kill people.
Second, the Earth has been in existence far longer than the human race has. We cannot just be ignorant, and listen to a bunch of scientists who are so called experts in the field, and saying how the earth is getting warmer than is ever has been. Maybe its logical to say that the Earth goes through CYCLES PERHAPS? A few thousand years ago, there was an ice age for crying out loud. Maybe, perhaps, the earth warms after an ice age???? NO wait, we must put our faith in a bunch of scientists and radicals who somehow know it all, and virtually enslave ourselves more.
Global Warming is the biggest fraud of the 21st century. It will always be this way. Earth will exist after the human race is wiped out.
