c++ books 2006-02-09 19:05:59 Reply

OK i was just going to order a book on c++, the c++ for dummies because the dummies books are usually good for starting something, but all the reviews i read, said that unless you were great with C you would have no chance understanding the book.

I've already been through two other books on simpler languages to start and i really don't want to do another as well as the c++ unless all of the good books will need it

So are there any good books on c++ that won't require me to know C as well or should i just go learn C first and then come back to C++ later?

I bought the C++ for dummies and am trying to learn it when i have no previous programming knowledge (except for batch files). it is harder but its better cause you actually learn more if you want a little easier time do what i did and learn to code batch files first because it gets you used to using programming style thinking and typing.

A list of MS-DOS commands that will be performed consequetively, that's pretty much the gist of it.

Thats nonsense you dont need to learn C before you learn C++. C++ is just ike any other language and java was derived from C/C++ but people dont tell you to learn C/C++ before java. Go ahead and buy the C++ book.

Read the post up top from AfroNin titled
"the time has come"

I put a recommendation/description of a great book in there.
