BREAKING NEWS: BILL GATES SENTENCED TO DEATH IN TEXAS
HUNTSVILLE (AP) -- Bill Gates, the founder and former Chairman of software behemoth Microsoft, was sentenced yesterday to death by lethal injection for committing murder three and a half years ago.
"No one knew," said Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft. "All we knew about the situation was that he was constantly talking to his lawyers. But he always does that. We're just shocked."
Details of the trial, conviction, and sentence were kept in complete secrecy from the public. Purportedly, Gates was convicted of sexually assaulting and strangling to death a 41 year old Hispanic female at a New Year's Eve party in Texas on 12/31/99.
The most bizarre part of the case was the sudden change in appearance of Gates a week before sentencing.
"We figured he was trying to escape with the change in appearance," said Mike Oxbig, lead prosecutor for the case. "He gained a tremendous amount of weight, widened his nose, and injected tons of melatonin into his skin. With an unlimited amount of funds, a plastic surgeon could change anything. He just couldn't fool us, though."
The reasoning behind the change of appearance, the motive of the crime, and other obvious details of the case have not been released to the public.
Gates is scheduled to appeal the sentence next month, according to his lawyers.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has posted a picture of Gates, along with the change of appearance, charges, and other stats, on their website.
