When listening to rock music, there is actually no talent going on. Its not just some shitty words like ''Help me'', ''yeahhh'', ''Come on'', ''I'm coming down'', ''Take me there'' Then you get some shitty little guitar solo and a dumb as drum beat to make a repetitive chourus.

Rockers learn to play instruments, I'll give them that. But it's not exactly hard to fucking do is it? Whats so hard about banging some cow skins or plucking 6 and 4 strings for 3 and a half minutes. They also need to learn to sing. They all either scream down the mic, sing in some shitty husky voice or talk bollocks through out the song. It proves that the music means fuck all to them.

Now, until you have heard some of the classic Hip Hop albums of the late 80's an early 90's you should not comment on the Hip Hop music/culture. Hip Hop is a very misunderstood culture, and those who are not schooled on the music/culture don't understand it and make judgements on it based on the garbage plastered all over MTV and the radio 24/7.

God, music from the 80s is shit. That could be the worst choice I ever heard of when some dumbfuck like you tried to prove that Hip-Hop is good.

Bottom line is you guys are all ignorant to Hip Hop culture and where it came from, what it represents, the fact that in it's beginning it became an alternative to the gang lifestyle very prevalent in the streets,instead of kids fighting in the streets they were channeling there energy into breakdance battles, dj battles and rap battles.

I personally judge music on

1. If it is in my array of taste (i.e. rap, alternative rock, indie, some rock)
2. Lyrics

I love a band who has a great message, I hate bands that sing about like, eating babies and dealing crack, it just doesn't make fucking sense. Some are Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade and many more. Even though Modest Mouse is elementary, they have the most beautiful lyrics I have heard. Some people really suck when it comes to music.

Not everything is about talent. Music is also something, that you might want to listen to, because it sounds just good. Why should everything be hard to do? Music, especially rock, often sounds better, with easy chord progressions, easy but good, well-thaught-of riffs. My motto would be, that any music, that sounds good to me, is good music.
And what about mssing talent in the RHCP?!? Flea is one of the pioneers of slap bass, one of the best bassists in the history of funk/metal/rock! John Frusciante... you can't say he's untalented! they've got the most bad-ass drummer there is, Chad Smith, and Anthony Kiedis is a real poet, but also has that voice anyone knows, he is what snoop dogg for rap is!
And koRn, i don't like all their music that much, I like a few, but that isn't because it is easy or anything. They just don't have that sound.
I'd say, rock music can be good, and bad. It depends on how the song goes through the ears.
