Who is the best president from the following list, list reasons why.
1.Bill Clinton
2.John F. Kennedy
3.G. W. Bush
4.G. Bush Sr.
5.Ronald Reagen
6.Richard Nixon
7.Gerald Ford
8.Jimmy Carter
-------------------------------------------------------
In my personal opinion G. W. Bush did the best job, militarialy, because we kicked ass in Operation Desert Storm

In my personal opinion Clinton did the best monatarialy wise, the economy stayed up, but he may have led to the drop in 2000, but kept it up for 8 years.

In my personal opinion Nixon sucks monkey balls!

Bush Senior was in charge of Desert storm, not W.

Reagan is the reaon for the economic success during the Clinton years. Think of it this way. If I put $10 in a bank, I'll be a little bit poorer for a few years. But later on, it'll have grown and I'll have $15. Reagan figuratively "saved" the money, and later on, Clinton "withdrew" the money. Consequence, The economy went down during Reagan, and up during Clinton. Theres the whole time delay thing that most people don't take into account.

I really liked all the republican presidents. I don't really like either parties policies, but at least the Republicans kick ass during war and (the republican presidents) are faithful to their wives.

Despite the fact that Reagan massively increased the National debt...from which they still haven't recovered..

FDR...now he was a good president, actually knowing how the economy works and helping people.

I think Theodore Roosevelt and then FDR were the best presidents ever, although they're not on your list.

From the list I'd probably pick Ronald Reagan.

I'd pick Teddy Roosevelt in a heartbeat, that man was the essence of American spirit and pride and was the most practical in America's minor pursuits in imperialism

Well I think we're all in agreement it's not Andrew Jackson, i.e. America's Hitler. The 20$ bill is a disgusting tribute to the greatest spreader of genocide America ever saw. Can you say smallpox blankets?

The reason Reagan increased the debt was because he was unable to reduce government spending. The rate at which the government debt increases is smaller than the economic growth that he caused.

I'm still a little pissed ofer the NIRA. I think that you're thinking of Theodore Roosevelt, and I'm thinking of FDR.

TR was a great president if you're into imperialism and expansionism, but so was Polk. Polk doesn't get the credit he deserves, he increased the size of the country over three times it's normality.

don't worry about it, the ambiguity was there before you posted, MANY MANY people do not understand the distinction between Teddy and FDR.

I don't know how desert storm justifies putting GW Bush on that list, he's still the worst thing to happen to the american government since its formation.

He couldn't decrease Government spending? How thick is he? It wouldn't exactly be hard to find some money to cut(DEFENCE!)

The rate at which the government debt increases is smaller than the economic growth that he caused.

It may have been you or someone else, but I will make this point. Under Reagan and Bush's 12 years the economy was going down the shitter. I'd like to point this out again, 12 years. America has a economy of short-term profits(unlike the European much much longer term) and you're saying it took 12 years for the things he did to kick in? Hah. Although, the influence of Reagan did kick in a year ago by the collapse of Enron, bloody de-regulisation.
