i recently found out that if you want to take drivers ed. when your 16 it costs around 250-400$ ! This is insane! when if you wait when your 18 you take a road test for about 30$ and get your linsence.
so the question:
Is it really woth that much money to drive 2 yrs. earlier or save for a car or sumthing :/
im just surprised it went up so high therefore i salut the youngans :(

Yeah, it doesn't matter though. I think I'd rather have a 16 yr old who took driver's ed (not that they actually put it all into practice after they get their license) than one that didn't take driver's ed. All 3 of my dr's kids got their license at 16 and were in at least 1 accident within the first 3 months.

It's worth it, plus I had enough money left over for a car. So now, I'm two years ahead of you.

Honda Civic
I get a used Accord from my moms, which by then will have over 40-50k miles, considering it has like 34k now.

Not true at all. I took mine through my school, and it only cost me somewhere in the range of 20 bucks. Final test and all.

Just get the parents to. My parents told me if I really enjoy something, they'll support me entirely.
Case in point, they're buying me a 7,000$ Mark 6 tenor saxophone if i play it through high school.

Since your just entering high school, and me being a sax player in my school band as well. I give you this.
Dont do it unless you really love it. In my school we're forced to be in the marching band, and play in all the basketball games. Ive hated it ever since it started, and it didnt have to be like this.
So only stick with it if you really enjoy playing.

The courses typically count as 2 or 3 years driving experience, thus giving you a lower insurance rate. Provided you're not stupid enough to get in an accident, it will save you much more money in the long run.

Idiots. Drivers Ed is a lot of money, but if you've taken drivers ed your insurance cost goes down a lot.

Your insurance is assloads more if you get a license with no driver's ed, so it all evens out.

Well I think so. I mean they said i'll get the Accord over our family's 2000 Windstar with a shitload of bumper stickers and stains, and reeks of death.
I wouldn't mind having to pay for it though.
