hosting

Ok well anyways, my friend and I are working on his site. If you go http://www.jworks.net/hosting/ this is what the current project is. It's a hosting plan. Do you like it? What should I do to make it better?

Change the colors, they're disgusting, way too bright and don't match. Other than that, it's hard to tell because you don't have the rest of your stuff up...

Now on the hosting part, what you're offering is extremely unrealistic for free (especially unmetered bandwidth - you're looking for trouble there, without ads to pay for the hosting no less).
What about a control panel? You don't mention anything about that or a demo of it.
How about domains? Will you be offering domain hosting or will you be giving jworks.net/user subdomains?

I think that's it. Just some stuff to think about that you may have forgotten about.

Well, we have unlimited bandwith..so why limit ppl? We have our own customized panel.. much better than c-panel. We made it ourselves.. and for domain... anyone can get their own.. Oh, and the colors are nice and simple.

It's not my site.. or my layout... it's my friends... I am just helping him with some coding and crap... and he is pretty good at HTML and making good layout.. but this is not one of his best... As you can see... but I am not talking about layout.

No! The colors on the page where the plans are? Dude! Seriously, if you think they're all green then you're color blind and you should know that by now. If I can remember, there was purple, blue, pink and I think yellow? Color blindness affects a lot of men... So if you are color blind and didn't realize it by now, then you're just plain in denial. As to the topic starter. There is no unlimited(/metred) bandwidth. The company will boot you from their server if you use too much bandwidth, or other resourses they claim to be unlimited. Also, what is with your space? 30-250 mb? Is there a minimum there? If so, loose it. You will get allot more customers without it. It is not that poeple may not have 30mb of files, but the fact that a host should not have a minimum at all that will turn them away.

There is no such thing as unmetered bandwidth, because there's only so much that can go through the connection at once. Let's say you have 100mbps uplink, that's 12.5MB/s, that means if you have 1 with let's say a 100MB file, then 100 people start to download the file at once at let's say an average of 1.5mpbs, that's 150mbps your server is sending to people on a 100mbps connection, if you can count and have basic knowledge, 150mbps cannot go through a 100mbps uplink at once, hense shutting the server down. That would even be easier if you had 50 sites, all with 50MB files being downloaded a few times each at the same time. That's why there can never be 'unmetered' bandwidth.

Yes it is the connection speed that is shared with every user that access the server. Meaning the most you can possibly get on a 31 day month is 267,840,000mbps. Plus what do you think a person with unmetered bandwidth is going to do? Abuse the unmetered part like what happens to most unmetered packages.

First of all non of this should have been leaked out to anyone but the people at bwhacks. I am really working with them for this project to work not this gay IWorld person (never going to let him know about my projects)

Ok first of all some clearifactions are needed to be made. My control panel will never be as good as cPanel, anyone that thinks they have seen better really must not know the power of cPanel.

I have just recently worked with my new colours, so don't worry about that. My green layout seems to be a fast loader so im sticking with it. Also unmetered does not mean unlimited! It means as much as I have. I am also not hosting of hostultra, they really do suck!! I have found a better host, and also this is not reselling!!! The definition of reselling is selling something that you bought, and I have actually informed hostultra of this a while back. (Actually they found out)

Ok and I do have a demo account, but it has not been posted here because I personally do not want to filter out all the gay content. I have posted it on a smaller community.

I will be changing servers when I finish fighting with hostultra to give me my domain! (Anyone have any tips on that?)
