Does reading the bible... 2006-01-29 00:11:44 Reply

Make me one of those non-christian hater preachers? I read the the bile, but only The old testemant. I think it's rather amusing to read about palestine being conquered again and again throughout the ancient age. I have plenty of atheist friends, so I wouldn't consider myself a prophet.

I have nothing to say that is at all relevant.

I've read most of the bible and I find it to be more of a cautionary tale than something I can accept as fact. No, I don't think it makes you a non christian hater. Although, I think your interest in reading about a people that were conquered time and time again is a bit weird.

know your enemy. i am not saying that you are an enemy of christianity, but i am. i have read the bible a few times, kind of dull at first, but then it gets almost readable. but the reason i need to read the bible is that preachers and shit that try to convert me will sometimes make shit up and say it's from the bible, so i need to be kind of versed in that whole schtick. the only thing about the bible is that i like jesus. if he was suddenly reborn today, of course i would kill him, but i would sit down and have a conversation with him. jesus is ok, just what people do with jesus' name isn't. and jesus would have to die because of christians, not because he's jesus.

back on topic, no, you're not a preacher.

Reading the bible wouldn't make you one. How you act is what would make you one.

that tends to be the biggest problem. it always seems to be christians getting mocked
i'm not saying anyone here does that but why only christians and i don't know why
not complaining though just making a comment

I look on the bible as a nice fairytale. I believe in God, but not like that. No, you aren't a prophet.

Reading the bible doesn't make you a good or bad person the same as not reading it does the same, it's a personal preference that you have and as long as the country stays free will remain your choice and really is nobody elses bussines.

I read the bible every night, I try to read 1 chapter a day. It`s a good read, makes me feel good inside. Many lessons can be learned from the bible. It's really good to read before sleeping.
