I'm not christian and I'm only 15 and my mind is narrowed by my lack of life experience which I realize, but I'd bet that if you were the kids who yelled at you, you would do the exact same thing. This is because you are the most close minded person I've ever met. Yeah, the bible has some immoral stuff in it but why the bible? Why not another religon that is 500x more immoral? There are plenty out there. Please, learn to respect other religons and others beliefs. Just because you want to rip someone's beliefs to shreds doesn't mean you should. I respect ALMOST all religons, the only ones I don't respect are the horribly violent ones. I have no intention of writing this with anger and I don't, all I'm saying is please respect someone's beliefs. If you want to take their beliefs and tear them apart then do the same to all of yours. I want to see you watch everything you believe be torn to shreds and see how you react.

Hey pox what books do you read on your free time?
I haven't read a book since high school.
I use to read a lot on the bus, mostly Star Wars books and everything by Michael Chrichton. I have forgotten most of it by now.
More recently, all I read was:
Rich Dad, Poor Dad blablabla moneyblablalbal
which was a book about how this guy exploits the system to make money and how he got rich by being captivated by money and how we should all do the same so we can retire, millionaires, at the age of 45. Basicaly, he's saying "fuck everyone else, YOU want to be rich, don't you? then DO THIS!" :o
and
A study on the relation between cancer and nutrition, which was very interesting and basicaly showed that american's pathetic nutrition, combined with smoking, is the cause of something like 70-80% of all cancers. Basicaly, it says that trying to find "the miracle cure" for cancers is pretty futile since the answer is right here in our faces, but people don't want to commit to being healthy.
yeah :o
And internets. I read a lot of internets.

religion threads make me hate the bbs. so much.
Dear thread starter, you're a douche. Simply because you apparently think you are awesome by going for shock value. You knew what the reaction to doing that would be, it's not like that was original or anything. It also doesn't prove any sort of point other than you're a douche.
The same goes to everyone applauding him.
To the Christians who were in the class and are replying to the thread, don't fall in to that trap. You are being douches as well by falling for the same old asshattery. They want you to make fools of yourselves.
Hating religion, Christainity primarily, is the cool thing to do for many teenagers, has been for a long time. Being all rebellious and angsty about religion does not make you a badass. It is simply you masking your insecurities by making fun of someone else.
An intellegent debate about religion is absoultely pointless on the internet, and most places for that matter. People simply do not use logic when it comes to religion and deeply held beliefs of that sort. Yes, some would like to point out that logic has nothing to do with religion, (on both sides of the coin), but I would disagree.
Normally it is my policy to lock all religion threads in General as they resort to name calling and the like, but I am wanting to see if anyone actually reads my post.

that's because sugary foods weren't around back then :o
You couldn't really help but eat healthy unless you were rich.
Today, poor people can live on a diet of peanut butter sandwiches :(
So they get fat and sick. So while the bible is good in certain cases, I could say the same from just collecting 4000 random sentences from places like the phonebooks, chinese cookies and newspapers and putting it together in a tome :o

1. Adam and Eve can't be true because their children would have to bang their children and etc...and everyone knows that banging your own blood line can lead to birth defects and retardation. EX: look at the deep south. Also, if the story were true they certainly skipped way passed the dinosaurs...fuckers. The bible never even once exploided then..because noone was fuckin looking for bones or anything at the time it was being written.
2. There are possible answers for the tower of babylon. Like when we first started to develope into human beings and we had 'tribes', we could of made our own seperate language with eachother...thus having the many different languages we hear today.
3. If you people watch the discovery channel you will learn about 'once upon a fuckin time two planets collided..as in when earth was all lava and shit this other planet which was smaller but the same, collided with earth...the other planet totally exploded but indeed a star gathered all the rock and such surrounding Earth and became our faithful moon..at this time the moon was 4 times closer to Earth, much like putting an orange some-what close to your eyes. The moon was much like earth, all lava...now as we know, lava dry's and the Earth gravitational pull let loose of the moon alittle. One day a few asteroids let loose from the asteroids belt and hit the moon. Thus CRATERS PEOPLE! THE MOONS SURFICE IS 80 PERCENT DESTROYED. Now...although hitting the moon it also hit earth, thus creating water..and from what I hear, Earth was all carbon, no water, but the comets helped create water, and as we know..comets have salt in them so OCEAN PEOPLE. Time went by...blah blah blah and organisms developed..Since oxygen developed, planets were able to grow through time and able for organisms to develop more into animals...and more shit I'm not going to discuss. But with them moon further away, it helped create life as we know it. The moon has a big impact on our weather today and with weather...well..weather not only destroys but it also helps make land as we see it today. I could write more but I need a few thousand more characters. Now...people...this might open your mind alittle, so please..think about it before telling this guy off.

dude, just remember this one rule: there are no rules.
No one owes anyone anything.
No one has to do shit-all.
I don't have to like, respect, listen to or keep anyone alive. I can do what I want. Its just a matter of dealing with the consequences.
The consequences of me being a loud bastard on the internet:
-I laugh
So I win anyways :o
WHen in real life, of course, you have to be more tactful. But just remember: you can have anything and do anything you want in life, just as long as you're there to take it or you're ready to deal with your choices.

Acctually there's a dinosaur (probably the biggest one ever lived) described in the book of Job, also there are apocriphical books in which Daniël kills a dinosaur (dragon)

how does it leave you astonished? If pork was correctly prepared, it would be probably just as good as other meats, if only a little on the fat side. Most hams people buy are full of added preservatives and chemicals, and bacon isn't exactly the entire animal :/
That's like saying the bible knew we'd add chemicals to preserve our food in supermarkets 4000 years in the future.
Also, doesn't it say to avoid shellfish? Shellfish is pretty good.
And anyways, what DOESN'T the bible say haha

Just one example in a billion of how a bible does nothing to help anyone get nicer. I think it can only contribute to make people go batshit insane and over-protective more than teach them about morals :/
Seriously, you write a book and tell other people "this is what you should be doing, by order of a supreme being greater than us all". You deserve a kick in the nuts.

Pigs are actually some of the cleanest animals around. And pork is one of the healthiest meats around, low in fat and high in protein, there's just one problem; it spoils very quickly, particularily if your living in oh, say the desert... 3000 years ago... and there's no fridges... DUH. Easiest way to get people NOT to eat pork? Tell them God said it was a no-no! Same with shellfish, these foods don't travel well (although pork does alright if it's precooked and salted, actually). Trouble is someone took good advice and made it a "dietary law". Friggin' Talmud.

I meant it in the sense that I haven't really accomplished much yet. What have I done, other than go to school, to make a mark on the world we live in? I'm not married, I don't have any children, I don't yet hold a steady job worth mentioning that affects others around me, etc. All I do at this moment in time is exist and prepare myself for life after school. That is why I say that I am just only starting to do anything in life. I don't consider my time up until now meaningless, but in the whole scheme of things, I haven't done anything.
Also, yes I realize my post is just MY opinion, I'm not trying to tell anyone else how to live or what to believe.

I wouldn't call being restricted to a vegetative state living, but that's you're opinion.

It doesn't really matter if it's the truth or a lie. Still the message is still there, people hold the Bible too highly and the catholic religion as well. I still don't understand why people goto church while in the Bible it says you can worship God from your home. I've never been a very religious person, back in Sunday school I'd leave after the free breakfest of donuts and juice.
