Is it the scariest VG you ever played? I haven't played, I might get it. If not, what is the scariest VG you have ever played?

That's only an opinion.
There might be scarier ones like Doom 3, Quake 4 and Comndemed.

Eternal Darkness is probably the scariest game I have ever played. Ive only played a few, so my opinion is a narrow one.
The game pretends to reset itself, what a bitch!

I'd say Phantasmagoria, that game scared the shit out of me. unfortunatley on my mac it keeps freezing on the 6th or 7th disc. if you have an old mac or pc you should play that game. its one of those old ones with the prerendered backgrounds and the actors on the blue screen. But I remember playing it when I was 10, and I got so scared.
I dropped out in the third grade, and spent all my time at the arcade.

Doesn't that game do other weird shit like pretend that your save file is gone or shut itself off right in the middle of playing?
I heard it was fucked up like that.

F.E.A.R isn't that scary....
It's more of a thriller with a shitload of blood and a little 8-year-old girl who drives you completly insane.
RE4 is scary sometimes... then it's not... then it is again. I havn't played very many scary games, so I'd say that' the scaryest.

maybe I'm just easily scared but I found Resident Evils to be the scariest games I've played especially Outbreak File2 (I still can't play that at night) and RE4 in a different way

Yeah. Most of the Sanity effects in Eternal Darkness are just hallucinations that your character sees, and that kind of freaky shit. But sometimes they really mess with your head, and the game pretends to delete your files while you're trying to save the game. Overall, Eternal Darkness wasn't actually that scary, but it was an awesome game.
ANYWAY... back on topic.
F.E.A.R. is a great game as well... and it can get pretty freaky, the first time you play it, because you don't know what's coming. But it's probably not the scariest game you can find. If you want to buy F.E.A.R., I think you should buy it for the gameplay. (Slow-mo, cool guns, and all that good shit.)

The original half life was pretty creepy the first time I played it.
Of course, that was at 2 am. With headphones.
Resident evil games can give you a jump every now and then. Nothing major, though.

That's the way to do it, man.
Playing scary video games is never scary unless you create the right environment.
Lights out, headphones on, volume up.
You'll fucking shit yourself.

Haha, that game was much funnier than it was scary.

Okay, you're right. In fact, that part almost gave me a heart attack. The other really scary part was when you walk into the piano room and see the guy hanging there... and then he opens his eyes. ("The darkness is coming...")
But the monsters aren't really that scary. It's all in the sanity effects, and the environment. Resident Evil, now that game was scary. Unfortunately, it was also too fucking hard. Or maybe I just sucked at it.

Oh, yes. It may not be scary for you, but I still suggest you pick it up. The multiplayer is insane!
Yes, I was scared like a kitten. Granted, at Three AM, 1½ cans of Jolt, and surround sound headphones, wouldn't you be?
That's the only way to play FEAR.

People tell me that Silent Hill games are the scariest ever made by man.
I haven't tried any really scary games...the freakiest I've tried have been Doom 3 and Half Life 2, and they're not all that scary even at night.

Hahaha, ha. I was reading a guide to it (I was kind of young) and it said "Look in the tub for a magnum." So yeah... ANYWAYS, F.E.A.R. is a great game but sometimes tries too hard to scare you.

That game was a big letdown. I waited for so long and got pure crap instead.
So I hold on to SH2, the part when youre in the prison courtyard and you can hear something running around is totally priceless.
Recently I went and got myself Forbidden Siren, and I gotta say it gives me the creeps.

I don't play many video games anymore and I haven't any horror type games except for resident evil- which didn't really scare me.
I do remember sweating a bit when playing manhunt tho- on the mission in the insane asylum. I thought that was creepy as hell.
