I remember back in 2001 when NG only had about 100,000 members. When no immature 13 years olds even knew that flash animation was possible. Newgrounds was very fun back then! When no one cared how good graphics were as much as they care now. Let's say someone made a stick flash the most horrendous graphics on the planet but it had the most wonderful plot to ever grace NG. What would happen? This...

SuperCoolMan writes
Man the graphics sucked. This sucked....go kill yourself.

But if you look back into the old submissions that had horrendous graphics, some of them have Daily Features! I know NG is becoming more and more Hollywood and it probably won't go back to the old days, and I guess I'll have to live with that. But this is just a message to all the people that were here since the glory days.

Newgrounds sucks now.

The average age is about 13. I wish Traekwon and Jose would come back.

I've been with NG since september 01, though I didn't sign up until a while later, and I prefered the flash back then, it was much less commercial.

They should raise the age you need to apply for an account, and some way to prove your age... But it won't happen

Mainly because all these horny 13 year olds are clicking the sexy banners and shit

I remember 2001. It was fun, i remember I submitted crappy entries, with white Backgrounds and choppy animations that got daily 3rd and 4th. Damn, I want those days back, I'd be bigger than IllwillPress :D

Years ago people got along better on newgrounds. Not to mention it was a site for amateur flash artists and not these ex-pixar and japanese animators taking over. Newgrounds is still a good site but there is way too much immaturity and competition.

I think NG has had its ups and downs, but I think NG is slowly improving again.

True I mean if you didn't become famous when NG started...then it's almost impossible to become known today. I think the only 2 people that became famous in 2005 were Glaiel_Gamer and Wario2k3.

I'd agree that NG has ups and downs, but in general I think there's been a net movement down over the last five years. BBS-wise that is. As for flash it was only good when Misteroo and Turd Clock were in their prime.

Randy Solem. What a fucking queer. I always remember his front page posts that would advertise every flash he made. I'm glad he stopped coming to newgrounds.

I think Newgrounds just gets better and better. Otherwise there would be less and less visitors every month, when instead there is more and more. The charts show that unique page views a day just keep going up and up steadily over time, which means Newgrounds is doing something right.

Not to mention 2006 really feels like a year where a lot of things that have been talked about for a while will finally be fully implemented. Things like the new profiles, more Audio Portal integration, other special features, the PM thing Tom mentioned on AotS, and the other stuff he was hinting about in an interview I read a while back.

This should be an exciting year indeed.

I wish i was this age in 2001 and signed up. :'(

I'm starting to become envyous of you more experienced users. It sounds like 2001 was a great time to be here, without some of the dick-eared users there are today.

Newgrounds and it's regulars are getting far better, believe me.

The only thing that's bad is the popularity that brings fuckloads of morons, but unfortinatly these guys bring in the dough with advertisements and keep this site running, but fortinatly these idiots get review bans and leave forever. :)

he stopped coming mostly because he started making childish movies. like Sonic enhaling a fart bubble. Too bad Sonic couldn't smell since he's underwater, methane has no taste either.

Don't forget the fact that this site's retarded users manufactured Knox into an F-grade celebrity.

If he never submitted here, he wouldn't be this popular. What the hell kind of talent does he possess anyways? He's not worthy of this big-shot-type fame at all just for that. Anyone can do what he does, so isn't this a paradox? Depressing.
