It seems to me that people in the politics forum is more.... mature. You guys seem to use less meaningless profanities and discuss issues with good manners. How old is everyone? (too lazy to check myself)

i think i'll let this one slip jsut cause u complimented us lol i'm 18. I think the average age of the regulars is between 16-25 but hey i could be wrong. I've noticed that to one day i posted a question in another forum i swear within 5 minutes 2 ppl called me a "n00b" and a lamer for some reason :S. There have been a few ppl here that are well idiots but most ppl that post evenones that i disagree with on most topics (marjiunna clock, swayside) are still mature and great discunissionts as are many other ppl

i think the people who make all the sillyness in the general chat are afraid of the word "politics"
they think they won't be able to keep up with the conversation

I'm currently 16, but strangely, when I first joined (2 years ago) the crowd was a lot older than they are now.

Yes, mentally, but not age-wise. I'm 14, I talk more politics than most people twice my age. Maturity is definitely something that is needed when discussing politics, so that when someone doesn't agree with you, you can produce reasons why you feel that way and you too can come to an agreement. This way you don't just start yelling obscenities at each other.
Hey, believe what you want, just don't shove it in my face and not be able to back it up. Got It?
Lies are not tolerated on this board. They will be punished by your opinion being shattered.

I'm only 15, Sophomore year in my high school. However, I am interested in politics and how the world goes around. I know that you need to be mature to discuss about politics properly but I don't act like a loser that doesn't think (such as just saying "Bush sucks!").

Certainly not denying that he does, tho? :P
But people in here are people that enjoy NG for it's flash and it's intelligent conversation and debate.
I actually respect a lot of the people on the Politics board. I won't post often on the General board because that's where the normal NG ppl go.
Can't go 5 mins without using the words n00b, gay, lame, retarded, or swearing.
But the politics board is a great place.

Meant to add this to other post, but oh well.
Could it be there's an Inner Circle of members that actually control NG? Or maybe I'm just spouting conspiracy theories again.
Or maybe someone should start a new group to Rival the CC and the BC. The IC- Inner Circle.
Hmmm? (Intelligent responses only, please)

I like that it's a youthful age. From the roll call here, I think I'm the oldest rounding out the big 2-0. But it's nice to see someone who has a mental grasp of something I say without being over 40. Even going to college, there are still idiots who made it there on a football scholarship or just payed their way in, cheated, got lucky, ect. With the larger range of people to filter through, it's no wonder you find your mental peers online much easier than in "reality" as it were. And to quote the "you need to be mature to debate politics" i disagree. Have you ever seen a fundamentalist argue? I'm right, you're wrong, period. That's not very mature, it's almost as if a two year old were speaking. You have to be mature to hold a conversation about politics where everyone is listening. A true debate as it were...but when you all grow up and become cynics, you'll soon learn that as sad as it is, in this world you don't need to be intelligent or mature to do anything...there are idiots in EVERY field.

I'm 24, I think when I first started posting here a lot of the users, at that time, were around my age.

Alas for newgrounds... it seems the Inner Circle will never be created by it's loyal, intelligent, politcally minded few.
Alas.

it has been said that youth is is wasted on the youth.
i turned 17 a couple months ago. i have always been politically minded, though i have always focused more on policy than current events. i'm one of the most opinionated people i know. i'm constant ly explaining things to people at school about how society works.

Hypothetically (wink wink) if there was an inner circle, do you think we'd tell everyone about it... I think I've already said too much... just forget I said anything at all.

I think the problem is that of those who had the political savy to join such a group...few have the flash skills. Hell I made a few movies, but I know I suck. They only survived cause they were funny.

and let's not forget flash is why Newgrounds exists. If it were to compete with the BC or CC in any level, its not how many members, but how many movies can they produce (that don't suck). Quality over quantity. (Otherwise you get the CC, quantity definately over quality.)

Nah, you have some growing up to do before you'll be an equal (to the elite posters here). But I think you handle yourself better than a lot of the people in here.

We really don't care about age, just as long as you're able to continue a conversation on the forums without resorting to name calling and insults.

My flash has only survived because I was *hot* at the time. I'm not so hot anymore.
