In my hometown, there is a particularly legendary local eccentric...he is known as "Catman".
See, round about 20/30 years ago (don't quote me on the date) a sugar boat sank on the River Clyde - from this sugar boat emerged a strange foreign man...who somehow believed he was a cat.
Near where I live, there's this little alleyway called Scott's Lane - it's where the Catman lives, I've seen him. He's black with dirt, he eats dead rats and mice and on occassion licks up your spittle.
There's speculation about whether he actually came off the sugar boat or not, but it matters not - there is a crazy man in Scott's Lane who believes he is a cat. Hell, he even get's a mention in our wikipedia article.
Yes - before I had seen him I thought it was just a bullshit local legend too, I mean a Cat man? What the fuck? "Travelling barefooted on his hind legs" "his diet is made up of wild animals he has caught." It all really does sound like utter bullshit - and seeing is believing.
So Mick, why then, did you post a topic about this mythical local resident?
Recently, photographic proof of the "Catman" has made it's way onto the internet. Enjoy...
