Should I Start My Own Religion?

I was born UCC, some type of Christian, but a lot of this doesn't make sense to me. And Christians are too sensitive, they lack a sense of humor. Sorry if that insulted Christians, but tough shit. Before I go any further, if you are confident with your religion, that's great, don't piss me off. If you are about to read this, however, try to take it seriously.

Anyway, I was thinking of starting my own religion. Here are some things to outline it:

-For starters, you still believe there is a higher being that created life.
-Premarital sex is okay.
-Cursing is not a sin.
-Your enemy does not have to be loved.
-Being part of this religion means you let people believe or be whatever they choose (being homosexual, atheist, etc.) without confronting them or trying to change their lifestyles (freaking Jahova's* witnesses).
-Abolishing the Emo Revolution is highly recommended.
-You were given life, so dick up and enjoy it.

There's more to it, probably. But if you think I'm a dumbass and should shut up now, oh well. Leave if you don't approve.

funny thing is I was gonna make a topic about starting my own religion about a month ago when a bible smacked me in the face and I started readin it.

there's a problem with it. all religions, regardless have some things that we dont like. so if your going to follow a higher being, then you would have to go by his rules and stuff. if you thought that the being was a good being then dont you think about all (except a few) of your rules would be hypocritical?

I'm an atheist and for good reason. There's such a thing as coincidence and with a hell of alot of people on this earth it would be basically impossible for there not to be some really unlikely coincidences to happen and out of those a percent to go to advocating there religion or god.

The government holds back information that could prove the bible's teachings wrong, Why?Because... If there was no religion and people knew that-do you have any fucking idea how many people would die?

Everyone in the world has at some point gotten very mad and wanted to kill somebody if not fearing reprocussions in the afterlife. Another reason for religion is that so people abide by laws or at least have a reason to besides jail. Everyone dies and some also need more comfort in the fact that they will no longer live so they do all these crazy things and believe in a religion to try and let them live a better life.

If you open your eyes and get the facts and start adding them together you'll realize i'm right. But of course-i honestly don't want you to do that. It's a good thing we (Humans) tend to be lazy. If too many people found out it all-of-the-sudden wouldn't be sucha safe world.

Let me get some things straight.
First of you want to just create a religion based on nothing but your own moral feelings. How can you possibly then believe in a god, with out scriptures, centuries of history, tales of miracles and such what proof do you have of their being a god?

Secondly, you can't talk about tolerating everyone elses beliefs and lifestyle's and then advocate killing emo's. Don't get me wrong I don't like the little blighters, but beginning a religion with a huge contradiction in your teachings is just plain stupid. Do you want your new religion to turn out like Christainity?

Lastly, "leave if you don't approve." Why make a thread, where by you ask people's opinions on the notion of you starting up a cult, would you then procceed to tell anyone who doesn't think it's a good idea to take a hike? Doesn't that defeat the point?

You need to really think things through, I for one wouldn't join a religion based on contradictions, genocide and foolish leaders no matter how big and pointy their hat is.

Religion is just a crutch on which weak minded individuals fall back on in order to feel better, or make themselves seem right.
Christianity was an actual religion devoted to peace and kindness and all that jazz. That stopped in the Middle Ages after the Crusades. Now it is just hollow prayers and false beliefs.
When you get more than 20 people (and no, your friends don't count) then we'll talk seriously.
Until then, this thread will be hijacked by children in order to promote/denounce religions/cults.

oh yea, so smart dude. religion has taken a large part in the worlds history. we know it wasn't suddenly there. it was made, i wont use christianity as an example for fear it may offend some people. im just going to go at your point. religion and law aren't the things holding us back from being homicidal maniacs, it's our morales and good will toward people. and don't say that a group of people in general are too lazy to do something. that can hurt some people. so really im just being guided, the right way, living my life happily helping people live happily too. and no i have never wanted to kill someone. annoy and torture maybe. but not kill

Where is the "proof" that christianity is the "true" religion?? You are full of yourself. Everyone thinks their religion is the "true" one, so don't think that just because it's what YOU believe , that everyone should believe it. And by the way, I'd like to see some of these "facts". People believe everything they read in books these days..
