Heres my opinion with only reading the first page and skipping over almost everyone elses posts. Lots of crappy stuff has gotten on the front page, not because it was crappy, but because it had value of some sort. In this case The Gayest Showdown got front page because it is the only parody of The Ultimate Showdown (notice how they are right next to eachother). Also Gayest Showdown was pretty funny I thought.

Many crappy things have gotten on front page. For example. The NG Insult Generator! What mad man would put that crap on :P. I blame Tom!

Tom has appeared on TV many times I believe, once of which I saw (he was pretty nervous that day...yea it looks like I really am asking for a ban here.. ugh) AND Tom's website appeared in the Rollingstones at one point in the early 2000's. He has been on g4 a good amount of times.
He made the CONSOLE VIDEO GAME Alien Hominid which in my favorite magazine Game Informer, got a 8.10 or something. And lets not get into the internet business with him...
