Dear Fellow Newgrounds Users,
I just recently converted to another religion thanks to another member that replied to one of my old posts. As I was reading about the religion I started reading further into religion, and it seems that every single religion believes that it is perfect (intolerance). Which religion do you think is the best to practice? My vote would go to Deism or Atheism (I know Atheism isnt a religion, but more of a belief) because Deism just believes that God created earth and then left his creation alone and that you choose your own path in life, there are no miracles and that God never intervenes with life. Atheism is the belief that there is no God. Please tell me what you think.
Sincerely,
Josh Harris

i think what he means is that someone told him about a new religion and that many of his belifs followed the same path ppl who are in that religions do. I don't belive there can be a "best" religion because if u say yours is the best is bassicly saying everyone else who doesn't belive u and the billions of ppl before your religion was founded were wrong. Besides the best religion for you might be the exact oppisiote for someone else

allow me to clarify...I wrote on 12/25/02 05:24 PM:
personally i've found deism the most practical religion, it's applicable to everything, go ahead and research it sometime, all the smart minds of the past believed in it, Ben Franklin, Jefferson...etc
lol i plugged deism, but i'm never converted anyone, that's why i chose not to explain deism completely, it was yoish's decision to reward his curiosity. I'm no high priest of deism nor do they exist.

Though I don't practice it myself I'd say paganism, for the simple reason that all the pagans I've met have been the most relaxed and accepting people and you never hear about a pagan who kills somebody because the goddess ordered them to.

no religion. whatever you need to go on. believe whatever. You see having rules like sins make sense and is cool. but all this life after death theories really fuck stuff up.

I think there is no best religion, all I see it do is seperate people and people killing each other over it. If there were no religions people would be more free, for example i cant walked to one of my friends house as I would have to walk through a loyalist estate and coming from a catholic family i wouldnt feel safe. I go to a mixed (that is catholic and protestant) school in a catholic area and after school ive been threatened a couple times as i was either a protestant or have protestant friends. My experinces made me lose whatever faith i had before i went to grammer school and made me hate religion.

There can be no best religion, as religion is a very subjective, personal matter.
My favorite, however, is unitarianism, a sort of modified humanism, wherein the only unifying belief is that all humans have worth and dignity, and therefore we should be tolerant of all differences.

A simpler way to ask this question would have been, "What religon do you belong to?" When it comes to higher truths or the lack thereof, it's all faith.
