I hope you aren't disappointed. I'm better at drawing cartoons and/or looking at a cartoon on paper and then drawing my version on paper. People keep saying life drawing and practice, practice, practice. So, I figured I'd start.

I hope you are able to see this. Normally I draw using paper and pencil, then I trace the artwork using a felt tip marker. It's very hard to get all the minor stuff when tracing. (especially hair)

I'm not mad at you because I feel everyone can bring their own flavor when drawing something. You know it's like every artist is unique.

My problem is this. I can draw a cartoon (I mean something that's very cartoony like "Hey Arnold, Happy Tree Friends, Mucha Lucha, Fairly Odd Parents, etc.) by looking at a picture then drawing my version.

I dont have a tablet and I cant draw with a mouse.
Normally I use Freehand to vectorize.
I just scanned the pencil artwork and attached it as a jpeg.

How do you guys draw with a mouse?
Freehand by thinking of something in your mind, freehand and look at artwork that's already drawn on paper or do you import inked artwork and trace it using the line tool, pencil tool or brush tool?

That's just plain mean, you should never stop anything you like doing, even if you aren't good at it, and in this case, pcdoctor you are not bad. I just hope taht from this thread you can gain some practice and experience and get better, you aren't bad though. Keep it up. Although I agree with this MIGHT not being in flash, just make sure you keep it flash related before some mods get on your tail :P

I drew this picture with paper and pencil. I then scanned it.
After that I imported it into Freehand and vectorized it.
After that I imported the artwork into flash and exported it as a jpeg.
Should I be saving my artwork in .swf so people don't get mad or I guess I'll have to draw in flash only from now on.

Nah, keep them as image format so that they can be uploaded to the BBS.
I think that the FF is a good place for a drawing thread, ones that appear in General tend to get spammed into oblivion.

Unless I'm mistaken this is a thread to practice and improve your drawing. You're not going to improve your drawing by just defending against folks who can not give proper constructive critique. Good luck! =)

It does... What it means by that, is which would be ideal for what you would use it for. But I use a graphire 4, and its fine.
