Don't take this too offensive or anything, but if you make your entire arguement based upon a religious belief, then you ARE mindless, though you might not necessarily be a drone. When it boils down to it, the Bible is no more original than any other religious book, it just happens to be more popular. None of it's "facts" are proven, but then again none are disproven. Don't give me any of this well anthropologists and archaeologists found blah blah blah crap, cause that's all circumstantial evidence. ANYWAYS, the point is it all boils down to belief without proof...that is after all what faith is, right? the bible says god created us

then the fact that everyone has gay feelings (everyone not some everyone! homophobia has been proven as a defence in at least 80% of cases) then god gave us them

and also any religious type person would say the bible condems but god forgives

and i'm sure in the bible it says that mankind should not lie with womankind as womankind is an abonimation

(the last thing is not my view i'm just sure it says that in the bible)

The adoption thing is a really tricky issue, I think I must ethically yield to the rights of gays, but I still don't think it's a good idea.

i'll agree with the point that the gay and lesbian community shouldn't be considered a "political minority", not because i think they shouldn't have any rights but because i feel that your sexual orientation should have nothing to do with your lifestyle nor should it infringe on your rights as a human being. the constitution clearly states that it has no right to impose on the rights god has given you, and one of those is the freedom of choice. your sexual preference is based on just that. the problem is that the topic has been dragged from end to end for so long that after a while the line between minority/sexual preference becomes almost nonexistent. if i happen to have a friend who is a homosexual and votes republican, it doesn't make him a homosexual republican, it makes him a person who votes republican and happens to be a homosexual.

that said, when have we ever felt the right to pry into our parent's sexual lifestyles or used the fact that they have sex as a bargaining tool on whether or not they should be able to have certain rights? why should a homosexual couple be any different? how does being a homosexual interfere with their ability to properly raise a child? why should they be placed in the same categories as dead beats, rapists, or repeat offenders...people that should by no means be allowed to have children?

as long as it's clear that the child will have a loving, safe and stable environment to grow up with along with two loving, safe, and stable parents who will do their best to raise him/her with all the love and care he/she deserves...it shouldn't matter if the adoptive parents happen to be adam and steve.

Everyone nowadays is like "ya, I'm christian", but they never really do much; Easter is represented by an Overly cute rabbit, The birth of Christ is represented by Coca Cola's fat icon created in the 1940s, and Pork isn't even allowed, according to the bible. We SHOULD let Gays adopt, since let's face it, we're overpopulated like hell. Gays are only different by Beliefs, that shouldn't cloud us of who they really are.
PS, they shouldn't have marriages, they could have some other type of "Union", but marriage has been a straight thing. they could have everything in a marriage, but hey, it's just a name.

Who says their life-style should not affect society. They're citizens, aren't they? And a child who grows up with gay "parents" won't necsasarily grow up to be gay, just as gay people could very well have straight parents.

How many people actually look deep into their (or other people's) parents' closets, so to speak) and find out about theit sex lives? Not many of us could say if our classmate's mother liked to masturbate with studded vibrators, or if another's father wants his wife to pee on him while making love. We don't know if our boss likes it up the ass, or our teacher does two guys at once. That guy walking down the street might like to be ball-gagged, and the girl with him strips at a female-for-female go-go bar on Saturday nights.

So why should anyone assume that only gay sex is nasty, kinky, or disgusting?

I've met a lot of people who like a lot of things, sexually, and I can't think of anything about them personally that would disqualify them as parent matierial.

I got almost violently angry the other day while I was out to eat. A woman was also in the restuarant with her husband and kids. One of them didn't want to leave, and she started yelling and beating the kid. I was so mad my boyfriend had to restain me to keep me at the table.

Should we take away kids from gay parents and let this one have them?

i know it's wrong that parents who really should never have kids get to keep theres but two gay men who would proubly be great parents can't adopt because "the child would be made fun of at school". Thats such a cop out defense, my parents were straight and i had a normal family life yet i was mocked relentsly at school why?? cause i was tall. Kids will find anything wrong with someone and blow it out of purportion. A fat child for example gets made fun of more now adays than a child with gay parents

If gay parents can have kids, then society must let them. The children should not be discluded or looked down upon, teased, etc., just because their parents are gay. Gay parents deserve equality not only in the law but in the eyes of the people.
Unless people treat the children of a gay couple as they would those of a straight partnership, this will turn out like when school segregation was stopped and black children began attending the same schools as whites.
It is the same sort of people today that are against gays that were against blacks back then. Same kind of people, different targets. No, not targets, VICTIMS.

I was thinking... with all the politically correct actions that schools are taking now, I'm sure that there are school rules or laws against "mocking" or "threatening" students because of their (or their parents') race, religion, sexual orientation, nation of origin, or physical or mental disability.

Making fun of classmates because they wear knee socks or make straight A's is still acceptable, though. *sigh*

It would be just the same as when black children began attending the same schools as white children. They were openly mocked by teachers, students, even attacked. But in time, people getused to them.
