Just wanted to answer some of your questions really quickly here...

Q.) How will the wining games be judged?
A.) All contest entry's will be posted on Flashportal for FP members to vote on. Those games which recive the highest rating will be judged on a criteria of animation, coding, sound, gameplay and fun factor.

Q.) Why is the topic name confusing? 1st place is 3k not 10k...
A.) The entire contests prize value is 10k! Since any Author can win an unlimited amount of prizes the grand total that one person could win would be 10k...

Q.) Is Director (Shockwave) allowed?
A.) No, that unfortunetly is a mistake and will be changed today. The only submissions that will be rated and judged on for the contest will be (Macromedia) Flash based games...

what's wrong with the current submit page that already exists? that's still good to hear, any chance you'll kick in some bonuses for games that get lots of views?

I'll put aside the self-glorification of this statement for a moment and approach the real issue. You're just giving people money. Easy money. You're not opening some brand new paradigm to them or helping them find happyness or anything, so stop blowing it up to justify taking yourself so seriously. If anything, you're giving young developers a naive view of what it takes to succeed in the industry.

This wholely malaligns with the "Internet is serious business!" cliche mindset you predictably cling to.

1.) Shockwave has been taken off the Contest Page. The only submissions that will be accepted for the Contest will be flash swf files...

2.) The preloader is now available for download and can be done so HERE...

Update:

There's only 11 day's left till the contest end date and so far there are around 10 submissions. Since the contest pay's out the top 20, any games submitted within the next 11 day's have a good chance and placing in the top 20 to win some cash.
