Honestly, I love the BBS it's a great place, but when someone makes a topic on how his friend is diagnosed with lung cancer, and someone goes "its his fault for smoking" what is wrong with you man? I know what you mean, but if someone is willing to share their life with the rest of the world (BBS community) I think we should at least control the decency level with which the subject we're dealing with.

Yeah man I've been saying it since I got on this internet thingy.

I've gone into rants about it in the past so I'll try to keep it calm this time around but it really is a problem that people just can't fucking see that it's a real person on the other side of this monitor. The internet shows human nature for what it really is, it allows us an annonymous forum to say and act however the fuck we want to. I've taken advantage of that on numerous occasions. (I mean come on my name is PORN DUDE to you people)

What scares me is that some people just don't have any empathy for each other no matter what the topic. They feel so seperated from reality here that they show no compassion at all to their fellow man. (or womyn) The only thing that scares me more is that some of these people might understand how others feel on here and just generally don't give a shit. It disgusts me to think that there are people out there who's first reaction to someone elses tragedy is to insult them.

This is one of the reason I don't come on these forums for more than a week or 2 at a time. If I'm in one of these online communities for too long it just makes me feel sick for our human existence. Fuck... people suck.

I mostly agree but sometimes people really do feel the need to just come on here and vent about their real life. I've done it a few times myself and it isn't because I'm such a loser that I have noone in real life to talk to it's just that the annonymity here lets you just say what you feel and not need to censor yourself at all.

That can be a really good way to vent and just get some emotions out and consult with other random people who can give their view on the subject. It's not always the cry for sympathy that some people view it as, sometimes it is just someone who needs to vent and talk about these things with someone that they don't really know, or better yet who doesn't really know them.

It's just disgusting to me when someone goes out of their way to insult people opening up about their real problems. I mean saying something like "I don't feel bad for people who get lung cancer from smoking, it was their own choice." is a lot more civilized and polite than "Your friend is fuckign stupid and deserves to die for smoking." The difference between flat out insulting someone and just offering up an opinion on the subject is worlds apart and when you cross that line you really could hurt someone.

I just wish people could be a little more aware of what others feel sometimes... but whatever I cried during The Notebook so maybe I'm just a big sissy.
