New Flashback! Article at VGDC

Hey what’s up everybody.. hope everyone had a great holiday, and welcome back to another year at NG! I’ve been playing alot of Resident Evil 4 lately, especially since it was just released on the PS2. This got me thinking about the first RE that came out on the PS1 ten years ago, and how I had a little story about the day I got the game. So I wrote up a quick little article and posted it in the Flashback! section of VGDC.

This game still holds a place in my heart in my history of gaming. And who can forget the first time the dog jumps out of that window and scared the shit out of you. (especially with the stereo turned up.)

I remeber that, and it still scares the shit out of me...
I was young at the time, and didn't like horror movies. I remeber going to a friends house at night and playing it with the sound up... trying not to make a fool of myself in front of my friends. But when that part happend, i'm sure we all jumped :D

I'm sure in years to come, this original will become one of the few collectable games.

And what a great game it was...

I've been playing RE4 more than usual for no reason at all but mostly in Mercenaries.

I love that game, but I'm terrible at it. It was possibly the only game I've ever seen that I was content to watch being played and help out with the puzzles without wanting a turn.

The only time I ever played it, I got to that room where when you take the shotgun the ceiling starts coming down- so you have to run into another room where the door locks behind you. One of the 8 or so zombies in there got me. I didn't feel like having another go.

the first few RE's were so horribly controlled in my opinion that it's since turned me off to even trying RE4 (not that I have a console to play it in). Not knocking against RE4 at all, but I really couldn't stand the static camera and horrible controls of the originals.

Lol, cool Randy...BTW, u already finished ur voiceacting for the Drastic Measures cartoon of Paul ter Voorde? We are still waiting the voice actors to be finished so we can begin doing it.

Im gonna help Paul with some animations and Backgrounds ;)
