Since we started a new page I'll repost this for the sake of it's importance

The new DRM-free premium EMI music will be sold on Apple?fs iTunes Store in higher quality 256 kbps AAC format (twice the current bit rate) for a higher price?\individual tracks will sell for $1.29. Apple said iTunes will continue to offer 99-cent standard sound quality tracks with DRM still applied. Full albums will only be offered in the premium version. In addition, iTunes customers will be able to ?gupgrade?h their previously purchased EMI tracks to the higher quality DRM-free format for 30 cents a song.

My ipod had taken a hammering.
I went to the beach, forgetting it was in my pocket. It got covered it sand. The headphones are broken; they echo terrible. And the buttons on the ipod are not working, I have to either press really hard, or in a whole new posistion.

Maybe it is time for a new ipod...

I would have to agree with you Abyssus that it is probably time for a new iPod. You're lucky it still works after being covered in sand like that. What kind of iPod is it?

Whoops, dropped my iPod while trying to change songs while on my bike (what was I thinking?), now the hold button's a little wobbly. It seems to be holding and unholding fine for the moment though.

A gold mini, not a color either, one of the older ones.
It wasn't covered in sand, I left it in pocket while on the dunes, sand got in my pockets and my ipod got muffled. It workes the same as always, just the buttons are kind of faulty. As long as it works im sticking with it, I dont have the money for a new one now.

I heard that one wasn't very popular...

My iPod has died. I took it out of my pocket today to discover it had frozen and was very hot. I forced a restart, and it came up with the 'sad face' iPod icon. It doesn't go into disc mode. It isn't recognised by my computer. It's out of warranty.

Vision M i was looking at. Although it doesnt say anywhere that it supports AACs, so much for that idea. Half of my music is .aac :(

Can't see why not it's not like there's an NSTC PAL standard going on (is there) but be sure to hold on to what ever power adapter. Also if you do enjoy the extra volume.

I don't. It's a waste of time. My dad listens to his iPod on full volume everyday, and I have to make efforts to speak up when chatting to him. I listen as quiet as possible, really to keep my headphones clean and to enjoy the higher quality. I don't need it loud so why bother tbh.

I really wanna know what parents actually say "It's bad for your ears.". I have no idea what their talking about but music is good for you. It helps your hearing and memorizing skills.

More likely the tndency to crank the volume up too high resulting in hearing loss
