I think its now apporpriate to now speculate what the 6th genereation ipod will be like. Will they break the 60GB barrier? Will it get thinner than ever before? Is there any possible fuctional imporvment apple ill add on (ex touch wheel, Click Wheel, Video capability).

I heard about that awhile back but then I also saw this.

I guess it has a chance of happening sometime but the current showings of it are probably fake.

All righty. I have a black 30G iPod video, and I'm wondering how to make it display "TV Shows" as an option on the Videos menu. If it's possible...there's a function in iTunes that allows you to classify videos under TV Shows, so there must be some way to display them on the iPod.

Also, I was wondering how to set the season number, episode number, and TV show name in iTunes.

The concept of a widescreen IPod with a virtual clickwheel was coined before the release of the iPod photo -October 2004. I beleive this iPod to be fake because:

1. In using the chickwheel you would smudge the screen which you'd be veiwing your content on and Apple would have a better solution than that.

2. No previous iPod photos had leaked, so why now?

3. If the iPod was genuine it would be on the market by now since it was obviously conceived prior to October 2004.

4. A lawsuit was filed in October of 2005 regarding the scratchability of the iPod Nano. For apple to then go and release an Ipod where one of the whole faces is a screen would be far too risque.

As for whats happening with the 6th gen iPod I can only really speculate however from what i've heard Apple are moving up to an 80 or 100 gig harddrive, improving battery life and are also possible incorperating a camera. The strongest leads I've got at the moment regarding what apple are doing next are the release of a black iMac supported by the fact that the black iPods - both nano and video - are currently dominating the iPod market. It also seems likley that they will enter into the gaming market as Steve Jobs has sent requests to most major news corporations that some new “fun” items will soon be available. Wether this will be done via the iPod to compete with the likes of the PSP and the DS is yet to be known.

Just for the record I was dead on with my predictions for both the iPod Photo and the iPod Video

I wish they would make ipods with the aluminum casing so it would match my new computer. That part you said about games remided me of EGM iGame April Fools prank.

Now that I think about it the article I read was most probabally in reference to the iGame seing as it was from late February this year. Regardless of that I still beleive Apple will break into the gaming market within the next couple of years. On an unrelated note did anyone else notice that Apple decided to re-release the U2 iPod?

yup saw the new one and I don't really care about it. About Apple gaming ambitions thoug I did see an episode of X-play where they poked fun at the idea by creating fake ads for the "ibox" with sihioluetted (I don't even know if its a word but what the hell) people dancing around it on dayglow backgrouds just like the ipod commercials

Well, I never particularly liked the iPod earbuds, I think their quality is poor and I find them uncomfortable. I have a pair of these, they're great quality, comfortable, and only £8.

Today I got an ipod sound dock it's an Altec Lansing iM7 and its fucking awesome. I can't believe how deep the bass is on this thing!!!!

I've never actually heard the iM7 before but from what I've heard and from reviews I've read etc it seems pretty danm good. I use the Altec Lansing in Motion and Bose Companion 3 speakers with my iPod.

It's as if they inserted the bass thaqt was missing form the songs (since bass playback is quite weak in the ipod to be honest)

Don't feel too jealous the iM7 sounds far superior to the Bose sound-dock at a lower price plus you can put batteries i it for pseudo-portability.

My speakers are only $50AUD more than the iM7 and I got them for my 18th. plz don't hate me :) At the moment I'm saving for the Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX Speaker System. I wish I turned 18 again this year :(

But the Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX Speaker System costs $150AUD more than the iPod hi-fi?

In reality if I was to get that system at least $300 would have to be out of my pocket

But at least at that price point you wouldn't expect conjoined speakers. I'm saying that the ipod hi-fi is a purchase of questionalbe value because when you get that far you can start to get seperate speaker which by default offer superior sound

Oh ok I see what your saying. If I had the option of a single unit with conjoined speakers or a seperate speaker system 99.9% of the time I would choose the seperate speaker system providing it was of reasonable quality. That is with the one exception of the Beo Lab 5 which is like the most kickass system avalaible all compied into one speaker. It has a friggen 2500 watt inbuilt subwoffer. Only problem is that it costs $21,000AUD so I'm never going to be able to afford it :(

And when your talking about sutf in that spectrum most digital sound files will become inadequate and you'd be relying on vynil which deteriorates quickly in other words experiencing the best sound reproduction is a costly habit
