Nope. On ipodlinux it's clearly stated there's no support for 5G (video) iPods. However, by the time your warranty expires I hope there will be iPodlinux support for 5G iPods.

Ah, I found some stuff from Google, and after a week of hard searching/understanding/formatting, I know have iPod linux on my iPod. I just got finish with an episode of SouthPark, then played a good game of Doom. Yep, good stuff. And I wouldn't have done it without you inspiring me.

arab, some people are asking how to install iPod Linux on 1GB iPods. I said that it's possible but I don't know the correct size to put in aes. I did a research but didn't find it either. Do you have any idea of the partition size?

hey sorry to bother you, but i have a very important question about installing ipod linux. well before even installing linux, i know you must use the command prompt and type in "aes 1 /info but every time i do this it says, "Error: cannot run in WinNT/2k/XP DOS box Run from DOS or Win9x/ME Press any key... SO i was wondering if you knew what i could do to fix this problem. i would really apreciate it if i could get an explaination thanx.

You need to download the latest version of Aefdisk. You'll find it in the iPL forums link I posted.

So i've been doing a lot of tutorial reading and consulting with my other friends here around campus and were also wondering if linux can be installed on a 1 gig nano. Also we can't seem to figure out the forumala for the partition size, even though we've watched the video tutorial and read through your written tutorial as well.

Any help or advice would suffice.

"For the cheaper, useless, and fundamentally retarded (made with the lower middle class person in mind) 1 GB nanos, use aes 2 /pri:892:fat32"
