Canada will be decriminalizing next year
So the tourism will increase, why do people go to Amsterdam? I imagine we'll have tones of yanks with nothing but money looking for a good time. They'll come for the weed and spend on lodging, Food, souviners, gas, consumer goods, ect....

okay first off it still hasn't been decrimilazed and every politcal expert says it still won't for at least 5 years, second u still can't buy it, smoke it in public or sell it, third everyone seems to think amsterdam is like pot heaven not really they have VERY strict rules and the only place u can smoke it is in your homes or specific coffee houses where they need to get a permit. but onto the actual subject, Decrimilazation would not effect the economay since its' still illegal to sell, legalization would proubly mean more surplus govt money and a slight boost in the economy but hell i'm no money expert

First of all, they aren't even CONSIDERING legalization.
What they are considering, and what could potentially happen in the next five years is DECRIMINALIZATION.
Which means if you are caught posessing, selling, smoking, etc, it will not go on your permanent record, and you will not be jailed, you will only be fined several hundred dollars.
