Foamy Haters Are Pathetic Lemmings

I just checked in on the latest Illwill press submission, "Exotic Chocolates" and apparently half of the reviews are 0's across the board, apparently written by the same guy proxying over and over and over and giving long dissertations on Why He Hates Foamy. Hours of work to, what, downvote a single cartoon? That's graduated from the pathetic to the psychotic, and its a gross abuse of the voting/review system besides.

I looked back through the forums and discovered dozens of Foamy-hate threads, most of it stemming from non-issues by the same handful of people. "ZOMG, the animation's so limited! He's using more T & A! I don't get the jokes! I hate him so much!!!11!11!" yet these same people don't complain about the exact same things in the thousands of other cartoons on this site which are so obviously and execrably worse. You know, most normal people, when they dislike sometyhing, simply stop watching it. "Neurotically Yours" IS hit or miss, but its hardly the Anti-Christ of Flash.

All this seems pretty much a case of a few loud-mouthed whiners, mostly guys with thousands of posts who don't seem to have anything better to do than bitch on this board, and a bunch of spineless toadies going along with the crowd. And no matter what your opinion of a single toon or property, no toon here deserves to be illegally down-voted by a single sociopath screwing the review and voting system.

The main diffrence here, is that most of the other lame badly animated T&A shit flash on the site doesn't get front page all the time every time, nor does it generate a huge annoying fanbase of 10 year olds that constantly get on the BBS and tell everybody how "super cool" and "original" it is when we all know that it's just barely above average... at best.

I'm sorry but i took the time to watch several foamy cartoons and all it did was confirm what people have been saying for a long time.

Illwill's humour is shabby, its not funny, its graduated from average to immature over time as he focuses on getting his 13 year old fan boys to keep voting high.

His animation is just plain lazy. His cartoons contain VERY little framebyframe, its all crappy little tweens with the odd movie clip thrown in.

Sorry, but i fail to see why his cartoons seem to automatically warrant a 5 due to his past. Watch the cartoon, judge it on its genuine quality and keep your thoughts of "But i love foamy so much, waaah" clear.

Foamy isnt great but I see no reason to insult it. Its an average flash movie and I see no reason to put it down. Although that sigle frame with sound was a bit lazy of him.

The majority of foamy haters do not focus on the cartoon character himself, though his grating whiney voice does piss a lot of people off.

They focus on the animation, the humour and the skill needed to make it.

I don't think that it's one person, there are a good amount of people who dislike of the cartoon, and they all show their feelings everytime another one comes out.

I would say amen at this point, but the people who hate it will continue to review in the same manner until the flash series disappears. The part of the flash they most dislike, is the fact the cartoons get such high scores and popularity, for what they provide. Which is why they try to get their opinion heard each time another one is made. I find it silly really, which is why, since I never found the series very entertaining, don't watch it.

That could sum it up pretty well. If you're also not aware, they have also created a forum for bitching about these sort of things.

There's probably nothing "illegal" going on. Also, even with all the bad reviews and lower-than-usual score, the flash also did not get on the front page, which is a manual decision, so it could go to show that the movie is indeed below the standards for quality animation that deserves front page support.

As a Foamy fan of the old school (well 3 years ago), it saddens me to see the series degenerating into terribly short cartoons about Germaine eating semen, and Foamy bitching about Santa Claus.

Of course, those who are complaining about Germaine's new whorish attitude apparently never saw some of the classics, like Shower of Terror. She's been half naked from the begininning! The series was a bit funnier, though.

I like foamy but i do not give it 10 for just being foamy i watch it then judge it. if it was a bad one (ill will has made a few bad ones but most of the mare good) like tech support 2 i will give it a low mark.

Its not the guy i hate its how lazy he has become.

As said before it is all unoriginal, he uses little more than a few tweens and a high pitched voice track and he automatically gets fifened by every little fan boy on newgrounds.

I've seen a few of them and for the most part they do suck. I've probably gotten a laugh once or twice but those are far and in between. In my opinion IWP is shit and not worth the attention that he's given.

I was out in my local last night and a guy walked past me wearing a foamy shirt. I felt like giving him a slap.

Apparently, they are thinking more, as evidenced by recent reviews. Maybe that will convince IWP to make something entertaining again. Or perhaps he enjoys his new work. If that's the case, then I congratulate him for not bowing down to the fans, but it certainly won't get him any more awards.

Has anybody here heard of the idea that any publicity is good publicity? If everybody whines about how foamy sucks, more people will hear about it. Then more people will end up watching it to see what it's like. I think foamy's shit, but giving something loads of attention for being shit is probably the worst thing you could do.

The thing I find amazing is all the Foamy-haters who love to point out that Foamy is just basic animation. They're right, but so what? Also, it's usually members of the ClockCrew who love to point out that fact. But, even though I do like some CC shorts, their work is also basic animation! How hard is it to draw a picture of something with a clock-face on it, make it bounce, and draw a custom cursor (representing speech-movement) that waves?..... That's like someone on Welfare calling a Homeless person lazy!.... If it's enjoyable, who cares?! It seems most of the Foamy-haters are jealous of illwillpress' popularity. So, sad.
