Well, the thing is that although they are theories, the whole world is based on these theories. Even if those theories are incorrect (and they are not), it wouldn't mater, because they work in earth's conditions for so many years. So, if you do not teach students math because there are some unproven stuff in there, or not teach Chemistry because there is no proof for gravity, the world would collaps.
I know what you are trying to say about protesting the fact that there are many people against evolution theory because of the fact it is not proven. Well, the Kansas board of education got this decision, a parosy religion was made, pirates got back to fashion, many peole laughed. However, there are still stupid people who don't believe that the whole world is based on theories. Besides, I can really see nothing wrong with teaching theories in schools, even if they are incorrect, if they are used, they are to be taught in schools.
For example, the square rute for a negetive number. Every child in elementary can say that there is no number that if you would double it by itself would give a negetive number. Yet, in math, there is an infinite group of square rutes to negetive numbers. A negetive number has no square rute, no matter what, it is illogical! However, it is used in many forms of occupations. So, does anyone care if it is not real? The world still opperates by it, and hell, it hasn't blown up yet.
Stupid intelligent design supporters >:U

Nothing in science is proven - it is constantly being updated and improved. That does not make it wrong, it just means you can make a "Science is proven" statement without incurring my ire

Basically this author is a retard. For one in arts people get better and in high school it is not mandatory. In computers you also learn to use different programs not just how to surf the net the net better moron. I've learnt how to use powerpoint and macromedia flash. It's important to teach ethics so people can aknowledge other peoples views. Also I for politics I dont know whats wrong with your teacher. My teachers inspire our class to be thoughtful. Only one of my teachers has tried to convert others subtally but everyone else had theirs views straight already. Besides more to the point kids cant vote anyway. As for sex-ed where do you think parents learn it? Parents are prone to forget and wont remember everything. Besides technology changes, more birth control and stuff comes out every day. As for phys-ed if kids are getting fatter cutting it really isnt going to help. As for shop most classes are lectured for quite awhile on safety before anything happens. Most people who hurt themselves wern't using the tools properly or being a dork. You said economics and cooking are useless until an adult. Got news for yeah, once you leave school your an adult! As for parents teach you they have jobs who has heard their parents say "Sit down Billy I'm going to show you how Soft© stock margins are plummeting and why Toasters® is the future.

every once in a while, it takes a thread like this to reassure me that politics is as full of tards as general :o

at least they try to read things here. And now, more Chuck Facts!

Can Chuck Norris deliver a roudhouse kick so powerful he himself cannot withstand it? This question would be better phrased as "Can Chuck Norris annihilate the known universe with a single roundhouse"? -Yes

Chuck Norris can run faster than the speed of light, especialy since he broke its legs with a sweep kick.

Chuck Norris can't drown because water doesn't dare enter his lungs.

Of course science is proven. That is the entire point of science: To establish a theory, then prove it. Science has strange theories like "The universe will eventually come back to one point, creating another "Big Bang", possibly creating another universe". Sure, you shouldn't believe. I don't believe that to. But the simple fact that a rock is hard, that Helium is a gas, and One molecule H + two molecule's O makes a water molecule, all of that is science. And if you think that "A rock is hard" is a theory and isn't proven, then you should see a doctor.

Damnit Pox, quit makig me laugh. :-[ The randomness!!!

Any ways, I think that you have a point however I would have to disagree with some stuff.

I think we need P.E. and I'm going to take it again, even though I don't need it, just to burn off some calories, which I need to do.

Politics should never be taught in a class.

I don't know about Literature classes. I find it quite stupid, unless you enjoy reading a bunch.

English is similar to Literature over here, basically the same thing. Some people here are not from the U.S. and so they are being taught to speak and understand English better, so I guess that helps.

Science, should be taught but not all the things they are teaching should be taught. Especially the part on evolution since it questions peoples religions in a way, and it's not even true, but a theory.

Some people are interesting in Cooking and Art, so I don't see why we can't have those classes.

History I think is a waste, well atleast over here. I think they should have more pages on people like Malcom X, Caesar Chavez, etc. I get tired of hearing about "White America" and so does everyone else over here.

During sex education, I learned nothing but how to correctly put on a diaphragm and a condom. Everything else, I had mostly taught myself.

And those are my opinions. :D

Who ever made this post is swimming head deep in political correctness...its all he breathes. "Everyone doesn't agree with it!"
Too bad.
I don't agree with abortion, but you know what?
I find out all I can about it.
The procedures, the reasons, its history of use.
That way, I can argue against it effectively.
I know it, therefore I can stop it. (Or atleast play some part)
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
However...there are some points I believe have merit. Chemistry is not used by most people and really should be tought in college for people going into a carrer involving chemistry. Our schools are teaching us all these subjects ,many of which we will never use. They are making us into Jacks of All Trades and Kings of Nothing. They should teach us want we will use, be it for everyday life or in our career.

(Perhaps the author was not trying to be politicaly correct. If so, I aplogize. I have simply read to many forums marinating with political correctness .)

Lots of things in science have been proven. I don't know what you are talking about, but there are two definitions I'd like you to look up.

The difference between Scientific Theory (unproven), and Law (proven).....

Many things in science aren't totally proven yet, like the "Theory" of Relativity.

It's still a theory because it has not been proven 100% of the time in every possible situation.......etc etc

Great, so now I dont have to worry about learning this stuff anyways since it will just become banned in a few years.

No, it really isn't

I never had a "politics" class, I'd think that would go under the history category, unless you mean current events, which is very important, as that is the only way to dumb things down that occur on the news for morons like yourself.

Are you serious? He's JOKING. This isn't you proving him wrong, it's you proving yourself a dumbass

This goes to show that public school shouldn't exist. The constition says that the government is not allowed to influence voters, or influence juries. Since the majority of children from public schools become voters and serve on juries , and everyone can agree that what people learn in school influences them it makes public school illegal.

So what you're pretty much saying is to get rid of schools. I don't like schools as mch as anyone else but i do think somethings are usefull.

History- It happened already, why do we need it, if you wanna know do it on your own.

English- This is a biggie, spelling and pronunciation are good to know but the adjective, verb and whatnot shouldnt be manditory, i hate all these extensions, we need the basics, if we want more we do it ourselves.

P.E- I like it and I enjoy it, we should always have this, it lets kids be free fro a period.

Science- We really don't need science unless we want to be a scientist, i don't so why should I learn it, I like it a bit but I find it's useless.

Home E- It may not be necessary but i enjoy it.

Tech- I think we should have this, being able to do things yourself and knowing how to build and whatnot can be usefull and save you money in life.

Mathematics- If I can add, subtract, multiply and divide I am good. All the other crap I don't need thats why I will hire H&R Block to fdo my taxes and whatnot, there are also these neat little things called calculators, work wonders.

Those are my views.

because if we don't we cant get a job.. unless you think being a missionary to africa is a job.

no job exempts you from using math.

I am not saying we shouldnt know science or math but where in a ob are they going to say, What is Newtons First Law of Motion? What is an iscosoles triangle. You dont need it. It is all extra, all we need is the basics, if you want extra thats great but we should have a choice.

you are not a programmer or a computer designer.. or an engeneer, or even a bricklayer, then maybe. a teacher might be the only excuse not to know that information.
of course, you can always flip burgers.

but then again, everything cannot be proven since humans are imperfects. so maybe science to some extent is a faith, but a faith we can construct upon.
i myself aspire through a wide range of jobs to be a geneticist in order to help people.
to help people you need the knowledge. also, if i want to produce movies etc i have to know the laws of gravity, otherwise my stunt double will end up flat on the ground.
try throwing your apple in the air and see what happens. they've "proven" many of these phenomena in space with momentum.
see, i dont like phisics, i dont like chemisty, and almost failed those classes... and now im screwed because i have to catch up with it, that and math. i loathe math, but to get a job i have to go over some basic trigonometry to be able to do complicated cell biology etc...
you dont have to like the broccoli, but you have to eat it.
