I gathered it's from some sort of lottery.

Did you participate in it?

If yes, it might be real, if not, it's not.

There are a whole bunch of lottery scams floating around at the moment; Netherlands Email Promotion, Microsoft Email Promotion, Micro Lottery International... etc. All pretty similarly presented and such, but equally fraudulent.

Yeah, Dutch lottery scams are almost as widespread as the Nigerian Royalty one. It's obviously a scam, just like those emails supposedly from british banks asking for your account details due to technical errors.

It's most likely a scam, did you even enter a competition? Do they even know your name?

Just in case, email the supposed company and ask them to send you a cheque (recorded delivery to a nearby post office which you can pick up) because your lawyer has advised it.

LOL I love how some Americans think that all other money is worthless compared to theirs. Like how even though the Canadian dollar is only .86 to their dollar, they assume it's like .02 to their dollar or something ridiculous like that.

...but this one really takes the cake because the Euro is actually worth MORE than your dollar. So the joke should be 1 million Euro is like $98943894839483948394893483 American dollars.
