I cant stand it when people put their names in the titles of their works. Sid Mieyers Civilization, Tim Burtons Corpes Bride, Peter Jacksons King Kong. God damn it, I know you made the thing, now you want to shove it in my face? Be content with having your name in the credits you egomaniac.

I always thought they never put there names in it but because they are like legendary movies/books or w/e.. Then the public put there names there for some reason to show people it must be good.?

It's more of a marketing thing than an ego issue. The product sells better with a big name attached to it.

People generally do that when they're extremely proud of their work, and/or have already gained notoriety for something else and want to capitalize on that by having everyone recognize that they did past successful titles and consequently be interested in their latest work.
It's a marketing strategy, as well as a personal success thing. Doesn't bother me that much.
